PA/NJ/DE Dealers at MSRP?

Anyone aware of dealers in the area willing to negotiate at or around MSRP? G80 or G82.

Probably tough to do for someone who isn't a regular customer. Even good clients are waiting months for their cars, but there are dealers selling to regulars at MSRP. This is where loyalty pays off.

The articles I'm reading are calling the wiring harness issue worse than the computer chip shortage. The wait has increased and it's a hot car... good luck

Try Dwayne Wong at BMW Ramsey. That was my sales adviser for a few of my cars and he's great. Not too sure if any dealer will be at MSRP with the current market but give him a call. You never know till' you try. Good luck. I just took delivery of mine a week ago and it's pure joy to drive, even more after you modify/personalize it

This myth that cars can't be purchased at MSRP is really what dealers want people to believe. You can get one at msrp if you push for it. I got mines at BMW of Bloomfield at MSRP after some simple negotiating at effectively the msrp.

The few models they had on the floor show a $30k markup. When I refused that markup and went to leave. The salesman immediately dropped to $10k over. That was my 1st sign they would sell way lower than they advertised. When I refused that and left, he called the next morning at $5k over. Finally dropping to $500 over MSRP and giving me a $500 BMW rebate for returning customers netting me MSRP.

Morristown BMW started at 10k over and dropped to $5k over immediately and after a few emails went to MSRP for a car I could take a build slot for. I had similar talks with dealers as well.

Don't limit your search to the local area. I found a car in Sterling VA. It was an individual color that was sitting for 87 days in their inventory they couldn't move. They were $1k under MSRP. I also located cars in the Mid West at MSRP. A lot of cars are sitting idle on lots for over 45 days unsold because of the price markups. Dealers need these cars gone, their paying floor plan costs for these cars thay rack up costs quickly for them. Don't let the hype mislead you, it's doable and happening often at MSRP.

Use BMWs site to locate cars. Pick zip codes outside of major cities in other states. Use AutoTempest to search for new cars nationally as well. Try Century BMW, they're in Cali they had nearly 15 M3s and M4s sitting in stock that they'd sell for msrp with a lil haggling. That's a lot of M cars and no buyers for them. Good luck with the hunt

Feel like I've called every dealer in NJ, getting stymied. Went to circle in Edison today, ready to buy on the spot even if nearish to msrp. 10k markup, and "we can't go below 7k". They literally did not care when I walked out.

Did they want over sticker to put you in an order bank for a build or to give you dibs on an allocation/incoming car?

Yep - circle seems to be particularly greedy. I can't find any store with an allocation near msrp either. All are 5k to 10k over.

Found one dealer in Georgia willing to do msrp on an order without an allocation, but I don't want to wait 6+ months

It shouldn't be difficult at all to find a NY/NJ dealer that will take your build+deposit and put you in an order bank with no allocation at MSRP. But any dealer with an allocation will want a $5-15k markup and they won't budge either. They all know allocations are at a near standstill, which is the reality of the situation at the moment. A lot of dealers haven't even received allocations in months. Really, it's either wait to pay MSRP or pay the markup and get a production slot. You would have to be extremely lucky to find a dealer that will do sticker price and no finance markup on a guaranteed allocation.

spoke to my SA at Paul Miller, he said they will do MSRP but they require customers to purchase a $600 maintenance plan and a $1200 ceramic coating.

I actually just managed to find an M4 MT (basically no options) on a lot at just under MSRP. The dealer is in the Midwest, but I don't mind the drive. Just a matter of whether it's worth going for an M4 over the 3 at this time.

Being both ADD and impatient, I couldn't deal with the 6-8 month wait. I was actually first in line for the new rs3 at a dealer - just canceled, as all signs point to that car not being available until 2023

Net - wrapped my head around this market quickly. I paid $5k over sticker for the exact car I wanted, picking it up next week. As loathe as I was to do it, this is the market. That premium isn't a special case, it's just pay to play right now, and I can deal with that.

I've paid over in the past for certain GT P cars, but I don't think I could do it for a M car. When I ordered my F82 back in 15 you could get them for 1k over invoice. I guess that stuck in my head, so I've been patient this go around. Even when I got my G82, it was an inbound car and the dealer told me $500 off at first. I walked away and ended up getting them down to 2k over invoice.
