I just got mine back from the run in service. I can tell you it's definitely louder on overrun with engine in Sports Plus. I can't tell if it's real sound or fake pops yet (was in traffic most of the way home). Also my M1 settings were changed.

Despite calling the dealer a month ago and being told they have all fluids in stock and no-issues, I get a call today, the day before my appointment, that the fluids have still not come in and they'll call me as soon as its available.
I tell ya! I guess I'll just drive it like I should have from the start regardless.

Got my break in service done yesterday. As I was picking up my car I asked the service advisor what all they did to it. One of the things he mentioned was they removed the "limiter." I jokingly said speed limiter? He said we unlocked the full power of the car. To me that sounds like BS. Maybe it's just me, but the car does not feel any different or faster. Before the break in I did take it to red line couple of times. And after the break in it feels the same. I'm assuming it's another myth?

I wouldn't take what an SA says as gospel. I'm of the belief that the average Bimmerpost user knows more about the G8X platform and M's in general than the vast majority of SA's. I don't mean that as an insult, just that the industry has a non-trivial turnover rate and they have to be broadly familiar with all vehicle series and multiple generations. I don't know about you guys, but I obsess about these cars to the point I should probably seek professional help I wouldn't be surprised that they hear the rumors that everyone else does and just roll with it; Makes the customer happier too. Or who knows, maybe I'm the one who's wrong, wouldn't be the first time!

After driving endless loops on the California freeways. I finally completed the initial (1,000 mile) service today/Saturday. Tech found a nail in the tire. Tire is covered under the wheel insurance I purchase in September.
Service rep said something about "Unlocking" the car was part of the service? The M4 Comp makes a slight Burble Sound now. Acceleration is smoother. Engine and Differential fluids were change. |

Anyone know why the transmission fluid on manual cars is no longer changed.
Pretty sure this was done on all my previous M cars but I could be wrong.

BMW factory tech that approved work wants transmission fluid replaced at 1,200 miles. Not sure if this to test fluid, preventative maintenance or both.

Silly question probably...
Anyone experienced that the car now creeps forward if you let go of the brake after the break-in service? Before, it would not creep when I lift my foot off the brake and stand still... |

Press the “H” button for auto hold. Someone probably pressed it and deactivated it during service.
