There you go, actually 53.1%

And the M5 is anywhere between 4090-4257 lbs depending on the extras, see this link

Besides styling what really differentiates this from a RS5, C63, etc? Or hell, even the performance cross overs? This is no longer a Motorsports version of the 3 series, it's an 'expressionists' daily driver. If they really wanted to stand out in the crowd of the overweights, automatic transmissions, and cars with as many driving modes as possible, they would have also put emphasis on differentiating the actual driving experience and not just the styling. It's fine if this is appealing to people who put their #1 priority on different styling, I just need to accept that I am no longer in BMWs target market.
My thoughts exactly.

It’s fashionable to create arguments on made-up facts these days. Who said they’re not focusing on driving experience? Even before driving it, pretty much everybody already know that this car will be the best in terms of handling, performance, lower weight, driving experience, and it has the best mass production 6 pot engine on the planet. The design is great, but it’s nowhere near the most significant differentiation from competition. It’s just the most visible at first glance. I mean you even put RS5 there... I hope you’re kidding. You can open the hood and see the engine placement, I don’t think you would need any further proof on how different these cars are.
LOL on the perfect weight distribution. Read up on vehicle dynamics, 50-50 is far from ideal as BMW wants you to believe.

At least with the majority hating the shit out of it, there won't be any waiting list and for those that like it, you'll pick up a demo for $10k off MSRP in around 3 months after launch 🙄

The wife and I are trying to keep an open mind about the styling on the front grill but I believe we are going to pass on the M3. In our opinion the looks of a car are important and we understand beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We had a F80 that we purchased new in July of 2014 which we kept till August of 2018. The F80 was our weekend / pleasure vehicle since we have several other vehicles in the house hold. We chose the F80 over a new Cayman GTS. We then transitioned to a 2018 BMW M5 (F90). The F90 will paid off by the end of the year and it will remain in the garage. My wife misses our F80 and we were considering the new M3 but I think we are going to pass due to the grill design.

Corvette is another example...
The new C8 Corvette is a perfect example of how this works today.

Yes, the C8 has a controversial style, especially the obnoxious side scoops and ugly rear, it has no MT available, and is now mid-engine with less HP than some wanted. Traditionalists were up in arms at the launch and blew up the internet. Yet today, they cost MSRP or much more, and 2021 production, even with a newly added second shift, is sold out through half of 2021.

You obviously don't understand.

Everyone knows it doesn't matter what a new model looks like it will always make the previous look dated based solely on the fact that it's new.

And by that logic, the E46 should have the visual appeal of a Model T at this point. Not exactly the case... Getting better looking by the day.

What? No man and that is reaching at best.

Regardless of how much you like/appreciate the look of the e46 it looks dated next to its successors. How dated is in the eye of the beholder.

The E46 certainly looks good. But it does look "dated".

We're not on the same page. Suggestion was made that G8X hate is really just because F8X now looks ancient. By the same logic, E46 owners must be spiting the G8X for making their car appear even more ancient.

As opposed to, well, previous gen owners just thinking the new one looks like a turd.

The previous gens are becoming more attractive, not less, in the wake of this release.

No way in hell. But tastes are subjective, even though the overwhelming majority thinks the car is hideous, more power to the few that thinks it looks good. That's all that matters in the end.
No way.
