We are on the same page, the G8X will out accelerate a M340i, there's no question about that. From a dig in the real world, a M340i xDrive might have an edge on a RWD G8X for the launch, but that's it.

I can’t say anything bad about this cars Hideous grill bc I was warned by moderators this morning. I think they work for bmw lol. Maybe they’ll offer a $2500 package that gets rid of the grill.

Moderators please read: I apologize for hurting your feelings by my previous posts.

The man was just recently gifted with a brand new set of 763M wheels and PSC2 tires for his personal M2C by BMW UK. Can we really expect an honest review from him?

Your choices are 4+ year old cars or to wait for the new 4 pot from Mercedes. Audi wont release a new RS5 for a few years as they only just released the facelift/LCI this year. Porsche isn't in the same category anyway, they are $20k+ more minimum
What another $20k if your already spending near or over $80k

Also this whole business of "extra 20k" is a bit of nonsense. My advice is go on the porsche configurator and pick the things you really need rather than "more money than sense" options like "leather steering wheel column" or "leather seat belt covers" or "enamelled porsche crest on wheel caps". You might be surprised.

The problem with the g80 is that pricey, non performance options like the carbon pack, or functionally unnecessary options like laser lights, become necessary to make the car appear palatable. Thus you might find, like I did, the price delta between m4 and base 992 is not as much as presumed (around 4k in my desired spec 992).

Now discounts on bmw's are far more likely to be offered, but not to the degree, nor as often as bragged about on forums, to make up the difference in resale.

Thats impressive restraint I've spent more time than most configuring a 718 cayman s and im always well into the 80k range when trying to match what other manufacturers offer as standard lol base price for a 992 is about 30k higher than a g80 right?

I was doing the same thing last night. $71,900 base price for Cayman S, and I couldn't get it lower than $90k by the time I had configured a reasonably spec'd car. Mostly I was ending up around $95K. I think the chap you responded to is in the UK though, and we are both US, so that may explain the difference.

I call Joe, Schmee and a lot of these others, "fact" reviewers not "opinion" reviewers. You can listen to them speak factually about the car like reading a brochure about specs etc etc, but the moment an opinion comes from their mouth on the actual car related to driving, feel or personal thoughts, you dismiss it immediately.

For me it’s like watching TV news, i cant listen to the talking heads who really have nothing to say other than their, or the network’s, tainted opinion.

I watch these videos with the sound off just to see the cars. This one did a decent job of showing the cars which looked good.

So what is the point of listening to their reviews, I can read the press releases for myself .

And really, to be honest, the press releases are not that “factual” either, a lot of marketing distortion in there.

Seeing as I plan to buy and not lease; it's a lot!
