Seriously. So they drastically improved the new M340i performance wise and rumors are saying performance has barely improved with the M3/M4? Meanwhile the M5 jumped leaps and bounds in performance? Are they trying to keep these things sitting in the car lots??
Bmw is always very conservative on acceleration numbers when a new M3/M4 generation comes out.

Also keep in mind these figures are for RWD - The G80 AWD is going to much faster than that 0-60 (low 3's easily) and annihilate the M340 in the quarter mile - stock to stock.

On top of that - handling on a track will be leaps and bounds better than an M340i...
I would expect these two vehicles to be nowhere close to each other. I agree, the AWD likely will change the game. They need something to set this car apart from the M340i or its a total bust of a car.

Lol there are so many things that set this car apart from a M340i. Just the exterior body work alone makes this car much more special. If you are even questioning whether to get the M340i or M3 then stick with the former. The M3 is out of your league bro.

It didn't take long but the looks of G80 are already growing on me. The carbon bits and pieces on the exterior really step it up compared to the F80. Definitely will be keeping an eye out for the facelift G80 in a couple years to replace my F80 comp.

This dude is such a shill that he claims this new engine aka s58 redlines at nearly 1K rpm higher than the s55... which is not only completely off the mark since the s55 has a 300-400 rpm higher limiter, but get this...

... he owns a precious manual shift M2C... which has an s55 lump. Watch your tach much? Lol smh

Everyone wants to be a YouTube star. Saddies.

Surprising they would no longer include manual in the UK of all places!

That M3 looks boss (and I'm a current M4 fan). The video makes the car look much better.

A lot better compared to all the leaked stuff before, the Carbon package also improves the M3 front fascia!

Really interested to see it in person.

The M3 in this spec with the extra stuff is the first time I've liked the look of this car. Much better than the photos.

Perhaps like here in Aus not enough youngins going for a manual license these days.

Think the last figure I saw was over 60% opt for an Automatic licence.

Why do the cars look so much better in his studio??

Black wheels might be the only way to go since there are so many black accents, but the M3 looks best in this video, by a large margin.

I don't think BMW is purposely being overly conservative here. It's just the limits of traction for the tires in a RWD setup. Sure the S58 makes more power but it also weighs more than an F80 by at least 300lbs. So I'm not surprised its RWD figures are on par, which is kinda sad. Had it lost 200-300lbs it would be at least 0.2-0.3 faster than the F80.

Just wait for the huge upsell with the AWD cars. They're gonna be faster for sure but it's gonna cost you some $$$

The videos show off the positives of this design way more than still photos. I think the carbon package makes a huge difference in the front and is a must have. Taking out the mesh and adding the open intakes makes the grill work much better imo. Ditch the license plate and its just extremely aggressive in front. I still don't love the two indentations in the hood but the rest of it is amazing inside and out.

I am not adverse to change and liked the larger BMW grille movement but I will never get past that front end of what BMW did to the M3/M4. This is saying a lot as I could even look past what Porsche did to the 996 front end at the time. Its the elephant in the room that even has hard core BMW fans grasping at anything positive to say including my dealer. No one is "looking past" that pig nose front end. This is like saying the Hindenburg just had a "rough landing".

This car will get expensive really fast. I bet builds in the 100k range will be fairly common.

If I wanted awd I would have purchased a Porsche, Amg Benz or Audi RS series. Now this is making my future decision more clearer.

Your choices are 4+ year old cars or to wait for the new 4 pot from Mercedes. Audi wont release a new RS5 for a few years as they only just released the facelift/LCI this year. Porsche isn't in the same category anyway, they are $20k+ more minimum

That wrap around carbon package will be $$$$$$$$$.

man I'm scared to guess, but I'd say 4,500 for the full kit. $10k package including the exhaust (sort of forced with the rear anyways since the carbon incorporates the new exhaust)

True... but even still - the only way an M340i comes close to acceleration numbers of the G80/82 - stock to stock - is if M340i has AWD and G80/82 has RWD - so that's not an apples to apples comparison.
