Same build I’d go for if I were to actually get one.

Have heard there are currently 60 cars allocated to Canada. That’s about 50% more than the number of CSL’s received (41 cars).

Extrapolating from this suggests a current production plan of ~1,500 cars worldwide, which seems low to me. Barring any supply chain constraints, I expect more to be allocated later in the year as was done for the M2 CS.

How was this ordered? Did you find a dealer that had already specced this and it was available? Or is a dealer giving you an order sheet for a car that they hope to have an allocation for if they get additional allocation?

As is well noted in threads here, in the US each dealer has only 1 confirmed allocation and the spec had to be finalized by Feb 1st.

I just want to make sure dealers aren’t giving people false promises.

Other than the news dampers and hood, and maybe CCBs, there is really no reason they couldn’t make more of these. It shouldn’t be limited by parts shortages.

Actually got very lucky and my dealer was able to change spec after the cut off, they said it would create a headache on BMW Individual’s end but since I’m a “high profile client” (their words) they changed it for me, very happy with BMW right now, and this dealer cause the “boss” wouldn’t change spec’s but my sales man contacted bmw individual and got approval to change spec’s from them after they received a deposit

Good to hear, that’s the confirmed spec process, just making sure people aren’t getting gamed by dealers as I’m expecting dealers will start to take deposits for cars they don’t actually have soon.

I also love the no PPF argument. “I’m not spending $8k for the next guy.” Love it. “I can live with a few rock chips.”

What you’re not going to want to live with, is idiots backing into your car, when you have no control over it. Is it going to happen, ever? Eh, it’s possible.

The M2, backed into, ppf removed. Nothing.
No one should PPF for the next owner. PPF for yourself. If you rather have rock chips, swirls, etching, and or repaint, go for it.

That’s for people that don’t care. The car only has the original paint, once. And try to get a shop to match Dravit Gray, and you may as well forget it. They will just keep painting panels trying to chase a color match before they finally end up repainting the whole car. Which who knows how long that paint is going to last? It may last a few years, and then you see chunks of paint popping off leaving primer underneath. I’d rather preserve the factory paint. Then drop of off to get repainted and the shops around here have the car for 2-3–6 months. It’s not worth it. Some people don’t mind rock chips on a $108k car. Some people don’t want to deal with it.

Does this mean if your dealership sent in the changes for color, options etc. but I haven’t received an email directly from BMW is it possible the requested options weren’t accepted?

My SA sent me confirmation that he sent in the requested changes to my build, but I haven’t received confirmation that the changes were accepted.

Thanks for the help.

Depends on when it was sent, but I changed a spec and the dealer got an email confirmation from BMW individual that the spec was successfully changed. I’d want to see that confirmation email if I were you.

But that’s only cause this process is so weird.

What about the titanium muffler, the rims, the carbon middle console, the front mask, the new steering wheel, new engine and gearbox mounts, control units for the new yellow "icon" lights, carbon front spoiler?

Frozen Grey or darker grey offering would've been my preferred choice also.
