Seems kind of soon since the last round came out exactly 2 weeks ago but who knows these days

Some good news for G80 AWD buyers: mine moved to "Production Begins" status so it looks like overall production started on schedule

Hope this it correct , I still don’t understand how anyone could know this , my dealer doesn’t seem to know anything beforehand.

Online -- and I just called Genius before answering your question and confirmed that it entered production this morning and is scheduled to complete production on or before July 5th

How do allocations work does the dealer request them and then wait for them to come in?

It's not sequential.. its very much linked to the spec and quota month your production number is assigned to.

You could be pencilled in for a different build week than someone with a "newer" production number

I was told a little over a week ago, by genius, I was week 27…above seems to indicate perhaps they've already started.

No; they are given out by BMW. I believe dealers can try and request additional allocations from their regional reps, but requesting doesn’t guarantee anything.

I'm 48216xx and still order received. Mine delayed a few weeks due to choosing a semi-individual interior color. Toronto over ivory.
