Really loving how the BGM flaunts the lines of it! Gonna be a hard choice to choose a color... or wait for individual.

Ask Ferrari and some other manufacturers that same question.
I guess I should have know better than asking a technical question.

For those who care, I poked around the interwebs and found that in the rear, a larger diameter wheel with same width and tire width will have a slightly larger contact patch fore and aft under hard acceleration vs a smaller diameter wheel. Most people assume it is that way on super/hyper cars for looks, but it's for contact patch. Fronts are smaller for less sprung mass.

So after all these years of building fast street cars BMW feels the need to go this route for a marginal increase in rear traction? I call BS and personally think it's done for looks so people will think that they have "super" car. I mean look at the m performance parts thread pics.

We all knew that. My comment wasn't intended to infer that we didn't know. It was designed to circumvent your criticism of BMW by pointing to other manufacturers that do it, and have done it, for a very long time. BMW just started doing it the last couple of years with later model F8X's and I believe the M5.

With every car I've ever purchased in New York State, the dealer knows in advance (and is reminded by me prior to getting the car) that should they drill into the bumper I'm no longer interested in the car.

Oddly enough, with M cars, it is common practice for the CA to reach out to the customer to ask if the want a front plate rather than assuming it.

I agree.
Frozen/matte automotive finishes seem to have gone out of style to my eye.

Did "we all" know that? I doubt 95% of people here knew that. And for clarity, I wasn't criticizing BMW wheel choice. I was genuinely curious. Because I have spent a lot of time chasing other gear heads around race tracks in my own cars and helping friends in the pits at the semi pro level; and never seen mismatched wheel diameters. Tire/wheel width front to rear, yes, but not wheel diameter. And while I don't disagree with the science of the larger rear wheel, I really question its need on a street car. Especially given that on a race track, where it does matter, you don't really see it.

My initial comment was merely my opinion that it looks odd on a sedan. But whatever, I am not buying this car. So who cares.

Back to regularly scheduled programming: Brooklyn grey looks great and the front end is still ugly.

Who thinks side sills should be in CF instead of black like Alfa Quad? Or at least included in CF pack.

New of course I've done it too, but used market no. Crevier has plates on any used car they sell. One way or another G8x will get a front plate drilled somehow

Thanks for posting, couple of questions:

1 - I can't tell from the pics but are those all competition cars? Are the different wheels the base wheels or an upgrade option?

2 - Are the vents in the front standard or part of some appearance package? I thought the front vents had mesh as well?

I'd really like to see a base six speed manual M3 as that's the only M3/M4 car I'd consider in place of my current M2.

Nice! Now I think only Frozen black and Tanzanite blue remain to be seen of the advertised color choices?

Brooklyn looks good here and someone really went to town on shining the black car. Seeing them like this I think I prefer contrast between the exterior trim and the color instead of color matched as the black car.

I agree, it's a good looking blue - although I'm coming from the other end of the blue spectrum where some days I feel Tanzanite is slightly too dark.

What, you don't think cheap, glossy, black plastic is commensurate with a car pushing $90k???

Yeah, all those bits should be available in CF. Or body color.
