SPY G82 - Yas Marina or Black interior?

Hi everyone!

I have my my G82 build pretty much finished. I have settled on SPY as my exterior colour of choice, in combination with the black version of the 826 wheel option.

Though - and this is where I would like to get the input and opinions of others - I am still undecided on the interior. I am going with the full leather option and the interior carbon trim. My two option for the leather colour are black or the Yas Marina.

I can't decide if I should just stick with black, considering that the SPY itself is already a pretty out there colour. I feel like the black interior would give it at least some level of "seriousness" and is a pretty sleek looking option with all the exterior black bits.

My reasoning for the Yas Marina - I do love the yellow stitching to compliment the SPY and I am not against the car being over the top. I am worried that the blue/black/yellow colour option just might be a just a little bit too much going on and might come off as a bit of as circus on wheels.

In favour of the Yas Marina over the black - the YM option is a very unique combo and I can get black interior on any future car.

Has anyone else been deciding between these two options? I would be glad for anyone to chime in with their opinion.

im decided on SPY as well and going with the YMB interior (extended leather, standard in canada) .. too cheap for full leather personally, spending that cash on carbon buckets instead

it's the press launch combo, i sort of get they are trying to be as out there as possible, but i do think the combo works very well.. SPY arguably is the only paint that works well with the YMB interior due to the yellow accents.

+1 to what DecemberStorm stated: "SPY arguably is the only paint that works well with the YMB interior due to the yellow accents."

Like you said you can always get a full black interior on a future car! If you're even considering YMB interior then it's not too loud for you and you should go for it

I wish I thought I could pull off the SPY for 3 years. That said, I almost want to get it just so I can get the yas interior. As mentioned I think that's the only exterior color that it fits perfectly with. If I'm going to go so non-conservative and get SPY I'll go the same with the interior.

I think I'm going with Portimao, but they don't seem to fit with it.

I like loud cars...I submitted a Fire Orange individual today in the hope they approve it (silverstone/black CF Bucket seats). But even for me, the YMB interior is too much.

With that said, I think it only works on 3 colors, black, white and SPY.

For the OP, with SPY I would do black interior.

For snareman I think the YMB and SPY on the seats will clash with tanzanite, which is an understated color.

I agree YMB interior works great with SPY but also works well with Black & White.

snareman was trying YMB interior on Portimao (not tanzanite) by the way, which in my opinion can work but will not be a popular combo.

You're correct. The medium blue portimao will not look good with the very very light YMB. It's risky. If you saw one and liked it, great. I wouldn't wanna be the guinea pig with that combo.

Thoughts on the orange interior with frozen Portimao? Too much?

I think that could look really good together! Would definitely be an option you wouldn't see on the road everyday!

I was thinking of getting the Frozen Portimao before I settled on SPY! I love the frozen look. I wish the blue was a different tone though, I dislike the purple undertone of the Portimao.

Tanzanite Blue is beautiful in direct sunlight, but I like in a country that it's murky for several months every year so it doesn't really pop and it's a very popular colour among other models here.

Wish BMW gave us a bit different, cool toned blue, would 100% go with that.

I think the Portimao might work with the orange interior if you wish to get something spicy.

If you like it, get the SPY. I think bold colours suit these types of cars more than something conservative. I think that a great midway between something crazy attention grabbing like the SPY and a more standard colour that could suit the car is to go Individual and get something like a Individual Frozen Dark Grey.

That could work well. I would still go with white.

This is a very strange shade of orange, kyalami orange.

When I was considering frozen orange I was concerned it would clash so I was going black.

Maybe my post wasn't worded the best. I don't think the yas seats work with the Portimao exterior. I wish it did because I love the look of those seats, but I think it mostly just goes with the SPY. I posted that pic as a, I want this to work, but the seats clearly clash with the exterior.

I would go with the YMB interior, get something a little more wild to compliment the SPY color. Black always looks good but I think the YMB interior will show off the seats better

IMO loud interiors are more of a guilty pleasure... easier for those who are generally more conservative to indulge in, very few ppl (other than car enthusiasts) actually look in car windows to check out the interior... and only select friends/family you allow in the vehicle. So always get the preferred interior regardless of what others may think.
