Hey everyone,

Saturday early AM I crashed my 2022 BMW M4 Comp X-Drive. As some of you know, I have a YouTube channel based on this car. Check out the video if you have time! And no, I wasn't racing or acting dumb on the roads.

I wrecked my 2022 BMW M4 Competition X-Drive (Not Clickbait**) - Re-upload.

Sorry to see this. Hope it can be fixed for a reasonable price. But you Youtube guys are funny. Try to get publicity even in such a situation. Well, you got my click. Can you share more what actually happened and what settings you were driving in? The xDrive usually does not easily loose control on a dry road. Do you have a Drive Recorder? If so, how about sharing the footage of this?

I will definitely discuss more in the next video. Thank you for the feedback!

Ha I was messing around. I didn't watch the whole video but keep us updated with your insurance company and all of that. If you think there is frame damage I would press to have it totaled or your car is going to be a paper weight

I give the praise to God you are OK, not anyone else.

I'm also curios as to the vehicle settings at the time of crash. I would guess the settings were aggressive. You basically floored it and then t-bone a wall? That is strange. If the other member's bill was 35k for the cracked oil pan, I can't imagine what this is.

Very glad you are OK :-)

I will discuss all those items in a shorter video this week.

Dang! 35k for the oil pan? What was his situation? My car might be done then. I messed up by not recording the bottom of the car where most of the damage was done.

I read it in another thread. And this guy just ran over an unavoidable rock that fell from a truck in front of him. He stopped immediately after hitting it, but the total bill was still 35k.

Reading a story like yours makes me ponder leasing, even though I still plan to purchase. Hopefully yours is leased and you can repair under insurance and walk away later.

Someone tell me what happened? Driving like a douche or not?

It was my fault.
Nice to see someone take ownership for their own actions. Apologies for sounding like an asshole in my previous post.

If it is your fault I would suggest taking the video down. Insurance companies can deny claims depending on what you say.

No offense taken. I posted a video, that's in me, so I am open to anything anyone would say.

That was my F80 that had $35k in damages from a large rock that went under my car and ripped everything up underneath:

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1550991

Front Bumper
Front L and R Combination Lamps
Engine Oil Cooler
Trans Oil Cooler
Steering Gear Assembly
Front and Rear Catalytic Converter
Exhaust (MPE = $5k)
Rear Diff
AC Condenser

It would have been more if I had continued to drive an oil starved engine.

Insurance paid for it all minus my $500 deductible. It took about a month and a half and they did spectacular work, it looked brand new.

Glad you and your buddy are okay! These things happen and you live and learn.

Was DSC completely off? I leave the car in MDM on the road and the canyons and save DSC off for the track. The G8X is a very easy car to recover from oversteer compared to the F80, especially the X-drive… if you have practice. I've done plenty of slides, unintentional drifts and spin outs on track with only one incident causing and real damage.

Good luck to you! Keep us updated.

Shit happens, OP. Glad you're OK, and that no harm was done to anyone else. That's really all that matters.

These cars have so much power for the street, probably too much. We all need to take heed, especially in traffic or inclement weather.
