I loved this review, which jives with what I originally said about the car back in February.
One note about the F80 - every M3 in the past has been so different from each other. 4 cylinder, 6, V8, stick, SMG, DCT - hard to compare them and say one is objectively better. But now, the G80 is the first time that the prior gen has been so similar, from a mechanical standpoint. It's just a better car once you drive it. Styling is always subjective. https://machineswithsouls.com/2021/0...g80-m3-review/

Great video!
Man that E30 is just so beautiful to look at, in motion and standing still. It's just perfect design wise.

I've spent some time in the G80 and yes, it is great, it is a beast, however, I felt that the F87 would have been better fit of what I am after... |

Original price of the e30 m3 was $35k. Adjusted for infatuation that's puts it right about 69k. So between the price of the m2c and cs

How good are his reviews
I learned more in these 20 mins than all other M3 videos I've watched. Great production value, information, entertainment and a pure joy to watch. 5/5 stars on the driftometer! |

…but those who dislike the G8X will suddenly discount Pobst because it doesn't fit within their narrative. We all recognize Pobst as being the real deal.

I'm brand new to BMW…but I've wanted one since I was a teenager. At that time, the E30 and the E36 were what I fell in love with. Now, in my mid-40s, I'm actually able to afford an M3…brand new and exactly as I want it. I'm a huge fan of Jason Cammisa's automotive reporting and love how he provides a thorough history in this review. From my perspective, the best feedback he provides is at about 20:27 where he say's "here's how…just ignore the badge…this thing is epic…". You can nit-pick anything to death and eventually you'll ruin your enjoyment of it. I don't think we should expect perfection, nor do I think it's helpful to always compare future generations of a car to a "G.O.A.T". Take it for what it is today, appreciate where it came from, and enjoy it now and into the future…I know I will.

Mmm yea the new generation will be better than even a prior cs model but the exclusivity of having a non mass produced car still holds some value for folks. I’ve had crazy thoughts of trading my m2 cs for a g80 comp but then I remember why I got out of my f80 comp to begin with and it primarily didn’t feel special enough unless you’re doing some individual paint

There's no reason an M3 should get out-handled by a base SS Camaro, but it happened. |

Ironically, lots of E36 guys initially bashed the E46 for the same reasons F8x guys bash the G8x. Too heavy, too luxury, a cruiser instead of a sports car ... even the looks were considered by some to be overdone and too much of a departure (though obviously nowhere near the revolt we’ve seen with the G cars). Also, lots of people were disappointed it wasn’t going to be powered by a V8.
