Bucket seat restrictions, m3 g80

I went to the dealership today to place an order on a 2023 m3 g80, with buckets seats. After I put down the deposit, the dealership tried to get me an allocation, and I was told the buckets seats have restrictions on them. That no one in Canada can equip those seats and they don’t know for how long.

Unfortunately, this was a deal-breaker for me. Nevertheless, I was able to retrieve my deposit.

Does anyone know why ? or experienced anything like this?

What color buckets? Offhand I remember reading that tartufo buckets were basically impossible to get

Sheesh. This could explain my, almost 2 week, wait in QC while others in the next week are moving to port.

I had my dealer tell me they couldn’t option the buckets as well (this was fall of ‘22). They never said, “all of the country couldn’t order them”, but their system wouldn’t allow them to put through the order with buckets.

Turned out they just needed to reset the allocation on the back end. Long story short, they called me back a few hours later and built the car with buckets. It doesn’t sound like this is the same situation but it might be worth double checking

Last week I checked with a client advisor friend and he confirmed that carbon buckets are currently unavailable to spec

They do! We've seen one example in UK with G83.

In the US, they do not offer them!!
