My M4 Allocation/Build - with an issue
Hi all,
I finally got my allocation build in - they sent me my build sheet and I confirmed it. Problem now is, when I put the build code into My BMW, the build seems incorrect! I called my SA and he said I have to wait until Monday for them to look into it - which will be too late by then, and will likely have to wait another month - build below. 2024 M4 Competition xDrive Coupe IOMG KO - Full Leather Driving Assist (missing in my BMW) Parking Assist Carbon Fiber Interior Trim (missing in my BMW) Exec Package Red Calipers Shadowline Lights Carbon Bucket Seats (missing in my BMW) Laserlights |

Status: scheduled for production
Correct, my build sheet does not match. SA is saying it will have to wait until Monday, but I know that once BMW accepts the build which is usually 24 hours, no changes can be made (happened to me before) |

They didn't.
I ordered one last month, that one got messed up, and I caught it within 24 hours and they adjusted it. After 48 hours, they couldn't make any more changes (caught one more thing that was wrong). Got on the phone with the ordering manager and he said once its in the system they can't do anything. I'm really hoping come Monday morning, they can make the changes. |

The best you can do is wait until Monday. I’m surprised though that the build associated with that order number doesn’t match the build sheet that you signed off on unless somehow it got changed. From my experience, once I got the allocation, the SA input my options and gave me a print out with my build options and the order number associated with it to show that everything matched what I wanted. I don’t know how that would randomly get changed unless someone at the dealership end made an error or the original build sheet wasn’t right. I’m not an expert though. There very well could be something I’m missing, but that’s my two cents. I wish you the best. Worst case scenario: You get a new build and I wouldn’t blame you for doing that. They’ll still be able to easily sell that build when it arrives. |

Don’t freak out over the MYBMW garage website. It takes a bit of time after your order is in to update correctly. Search on here for the Google chrome trick. Log into my garage on chrome and let us know what status your order is. If you are 111 or 112 you are 100% fine, it can be changed since as calbears notes you have no individual options which would lock you at 112. |

He means he’ll have to wait for the next batch of allocations.

This is what my SA and the ordering manager told me. They explained that once the plant accepts the build and it enters the production assembly line, they cannot make any changes - even that made no sense to me, but I'm just explaining to you all what they are telling me... which sounds like they just don't want to do the extra work to make changes behind the scenes. The reason I would have to wait another month is because the dealership basically said they have to accept the build "as is", resell it, and then wait for the next allocation next month and re-order. Appreciate everyone's feedback so far, I think I know what happened and I think I'm OK. I explained previously that this is the second build, the first got scrapped. I checked on the first build and a lot of the options for the second build are part of the first build's list - which doesn't make sense because that car is already on the boat on its way here. I think the system mixed something up on the website, but I'm confident my order is correct. |

Here is my timeline before I hit 150
8/16/2023 111 Order accepted by AG 11/9/2023 112 scheduled for production 11/16/2024 150 production begins I called my SA on or about 11/15 to add CCB He told me that would put me at the back of the line I said, do It!! I don’t care, add it. ( I knew I could change before 150 because of this forum!)He did and I went 112 right after I got off the phone with my SA. You can make changes up until you hit 150. Don’t let him fool you. Edit: I went back and checked my emails. I was 111 when I called and added CCB. After I got off the phone I checked and I was at 112. Don’t know if it was a coincidence or if I just got lucky. Last edited by Ifly680G; 12-03-2023 at 06:56 PM.. |

That’s what happened to me. And I wanted to change my lights the second time while I was still at 112 and couldn’t. |

I would be willing to accept that the individual color or other options (like trim/interior) can't be changed, but you should be able to add/remove equipment even on individual orders at 112. Whoever couldn't do it just didn't try hard enough. I didn't even have to ask twice, I told them the package wasn't there and it was there a week later. |

Yeah I was told that as well, but they said whoever just sent an email and got it done. It may have been because it was supposed to be there and wasn't (was on my original build I sent to them), rather than me making a decision later, but it was changed.

OP glad it all worked out.
Next time just have patience. For example, I had a EOP F93 ZCP on order early 2020, then COVID hit, as we all know shut down the factories and when reopened, I was informed that my order was cancelled by BMW NA as the EOP was a few months away. The order was “resurrected” a month latter and when the dealership sent me the build sheet there were options missing from the original built. I declined the order and told the dealership I would wait for a G83. A year latter I had one of their 1st G83 builds below MRSP.
