That's the way it is from factory if you opt for the galvanic controls.

EDIT: Apologies, the G82 gets galvanic controls for the seat memory buttons. The G80 does not for some reason.

The G82 does not get seat memory galvanic controls. I took that screenshot straight from the configurator. There isn't even an option for the G80 yet (still MY24), not sure where you're seeing this.

Only the window controls and door lock switch is galvanic.

Oh no… look at all the other black buttons for the headlight control… with the single proud galvanic Auto button. 😝🙃

Here's one right down the street from me (G82). Galvanic controls have been available for all G20/80/82 cars in Canada from the start of production.

Also looks like the galvanic control switches include only the driver memory seat and not the passenger blank (that's still black) pics of both doors from the same car in Canada

Correct, the blank on the passenger side is just black.

Considering what I've paid already, $100 for this is a steal so everyone should be optioning it if you're considering it.

I think we should wait to see what we get in the US with the 25s. If we have galvanic seat memory functions then I'll replace those as well, but I haven't seen a '25 in person yet.

Nice! How easy was it to install? Just a trim piece pry tool to pop off the black one?

The button itself is snapped to the trim surrounding it. To remove the trim without removing the door panel, pry the bottom of the trim off (not the top), then pry the button off the trim.

https://www.schmiedmann.com… check first if they have it used (50% off, 3 days shipping to the USA). Mine was used for less than $50 shipped, and was perfect.

The big door and window controls require the door card panel to come off. The trunk popper, no… just be careful popping out with proper plastic pry tools.

Just finished this project on my G83 and thought I'd post a little write up. Not too bad of a task. Took me about 2 hours taking my time and documenting my progress. Hope this helps some out there

Apparently my driver's door is Australian. Sorry for that

Does your G83 even have passenger memory seat controls? I don't think mine does

No it doesn't. The buttons don't work. I just installed it to keep with the symmetry since there isn't a galvanic blank
