PCD for my M3 Comp

Monday was delivery day for my M3 Comp. Some rain at the PC but fun was had by all. Excellent experience driving their M3 around the track. Really handles the curves and cones well. Took it to Extreme Colors, the local X-pel shop (that does work for the PC- lots of M3 practice already) for full hood fenders mirrors lights & bumper in clear covering. Fantastic job. On to Asheville the next day and back to Va. the day after.

Setting up the M1 button as "wife" yielded a stable yet still fun drive back in mostly comfort mode with sport still for the engine. M2 is configured for me of course. My wife immediately said it was the best looking car I had ever picked out (beating out the Valencia Orange 1M and a Guards Red 944)- she loves the grille- just says its aggressive. Very happy with my choice of Tartufo for the interior. Liked the orange but loved the Tartufo more. Interior carbon is an excellent choice. I didn't catch them well in these pics but the red calipers look great on the green car.

No negatives to report in my first 500 miles. Enjoy!!! The pics don't do her justice- it was a bit cloudy then, but on the way to NC the sun gave us views of the true spectacular color in full light.

Great idea on getting car done before getting on road to VA. Do you mind sharing cost and I am sure you had it scheduled. I live in Virginia and am considering PPF and would like to go back with a protected car.

Yes, I prescheduled it. They have a system including Uber to take you back to the Marriott. Car was ready by 3:45 the next day. For the full front it was $2300 (forgot- door edge trim was included in that). They also offer the bumper and part of the hood but lesser protection of course, and I never liked the "line" that shows across the hood. I had picked up an M2 in 2016 & chose to drive it home and have it done in VA. Had no issues but sure was concerned along the way. Their website is informative. Quality was excellent.

Thank you for responding and I will definitely reach out to them if I do PCD. I like to have that security going back down the road.

I sent a PM before I realized my phone app didn't refresh this thread.

Do you have an idea on full car PPF?
Did you pre-plan via PCD or thru the place directly? It would be cool if PCD gets the car, sends it over THEN I take delivery. Not sure if it's an option or not.

Thanks in advance and congratulations on your new Car. These New M's are stunning!

Henry0959 how much do you think PCD added to your timeline? I mean vs. picking it up from a local dealership?

I'm doing PCD for two reasons: (1) I want to have this experience, and (2) I ordered from an out of state dealer

I have done it before. It really doesnt add any time to the pickup process and they have a much better detailing crew at PCD.

That'll be great! From other threads I was under the impression that the PCD can schedule delivery weeks after the car arrives?

Yes, used Extreme Colors in Greenville. Excellent job-stay an extra nite and visit downtown Greenville the next day- great area. Car was ready by 4:00 on 6/8.
The PCD may have added a bit- my car was in Baltimore in early May so could have been processed and at the dealer there by mid May- but I'm in Richmond VA and bought through a broker and was happy with a PCD of 6/7- rather get the special treatment there (have been once before) and much rather drive back with a stop in Asheville NC than go up & back thru northern VA/Baltimore traffic.

Usually you work with your salesperson and schedule to pick up your car around the estimated time of arrival at PCD.

I live in Richmond, VA also and typically buy my cars from local dealership, 7 to be exact. Love the service department but a little pissed with sales. They said they will make it up to me but have reservations. Did you reach out to them first or just decided going the broker route?
Hope to see your car around one day.... I have not seen IOMG in person.
