Fire Orange Build - thoughts?
Hi, so I'm finalizing my build. Can I get a sanity check? Also, any thoughts on interior to get? Haven't decided, although that Silverstone/Black looks sweet!
NA M3 Competition - $72,800 U94/2 Fire Orange Paint - $5,000 ZPK Parking Assistance - $800 ZPX Executive Package - $3000 IU0 Black, Non Runflat Tires 826M - $0 3M_ Blue Brake Calipers - $0 3MF Shadowline Lights - $300 453 Front Ventilated Seats - $350 4MC Carbon Fiber Trim Package - $950 Destination Fee - $995 Total $84,195.00 I've decided to skip the exterior carbon package, and the carbon seats for convenience/ ventilated seats. Anyway, lemme know your thoughts! Also haven't decided on AWD or RWD, but I guess that depends more on the build month. If I get pushed out to June/July, then I might as well wait for the AWD. I imagine the AWD will be....$3,000 more? |

I am also trying for a Fire Orange. Where did you get your profile pic by the way?
I have an early allocation (either a november or december build most likely). I am going to submit Fire Orange and if they say no, i'll settle for Frozen Portimao Blue. I am doing silverstone interior as well, for what it's worth.

the CF seats are hard to pass up for me. have you had the ventilation seats before in a BMW? IF not, what are your expectations for them? for me they really dont do much, they help with sucking up some of the moisture but nothing super over the top like cooling you down drastically. Since you are looking at build week next year in June July you will have a lot of time to check the cars out in person and see if any option catch your eye to remove or add

While trying to see if the Kyalami Orange was a match or close to it for Fire Orange (It's not sadly), I played with the SPY car from the launch photos. Think I got it pretty close to the F80 FO. Fingers crossed on that, I don't think you'll get it in a DEC build though, think you'd have to wait until March or so based on what I've been told. Quote:
Also you're right, looking forward to seeing what people do.....any idea when my "final answer" so to speak is locked in? Finally, when is the price negotiated, at deposit time, at build time, or when the car actually comes in? Thanks! |

you will want to lock in pricing and programing before you place your order so you are not negotiating things when the car comes. With BMWFS they allow you to lock in rates for 60 days east coast and 90 days west coast. Def dial in all your pricing etc.. and get it all in writing when you place your order. Also make sure when you order the dealer has an allocation and not just telling you there are delays etc.. if they have an allocation they will give you a production number. Who knows what programming and allocations will look like on these in June July I guess we will have to wait and see

Most of us are budgeting $3k for AWD but based on the German pricing of 4k euros it might end up being $3.5k to $4k

Image can be found here! View post on imgur.com That's exactly my reasoning.....I'd rather go for features (technology) that can't be retrofitted or aftermarket-ed later, you know?

So now I'm first in line at my local dealer, put down a refundable $1K deposit to reserve my spot for the AWD (model year 2022). Now we wait.....

Any input on when AWD cars will start being delivered to customers? I'm guessing September 2021 but that's only based on an assumed start of production of June/July!

I suppose the only hiccup would be if bmw has some special marketing launch planned and holds them at port. But I don't think they would hold the cars it just might be a case of them getting into consumers hands at the same time as press drives are released... (which is looking likely to happen with the RWD M3/M4 launch) |

My rep is saying pretty much the same. Allocations expected June/July for an August/September delivery.

Ahhh how I miss this color... Right choice with such a outrageous looking design! Unfortunately it doesn't go as well with the current M5 so didn't go with it... As for ventilated seats.. Really try to reconsider it! I've had it in the older BMWs as well as my current F90. BMW has not improve them over the years... Still weak/ almost feel like it doesn't exist on the highest settings. On hot summer days barely do ANYTHING at all. At most it gave me the wet butt feeling, not pleasant! If the CF bucket seats can be option together I'd say go for it. But since they can't be combined don't give up the amazing Bucket seats over mediocre ventilated seats! (It's really down to how BMW execute the ventilated seats... If you were to get Merc or Lexus I'd recommend them!)

Then, on this one I tried to Fire Orange but they wouldn't approve it on an early allocation (my build is any day now). For my next G80 I'll do either Verde Mantis or Fire Orange. You staying with your F80 or you jumping to a G80 at some point?
