These haven't been out on the road to any decent extent for the crowds to grow indifferent to it yet, thus this topic will be covered many more times. |

If an M8 were the price of an M3/M4 your comment would make sense. Until then...

This is from someone who plans on buying a G80 for the manual transmission (I will wait for the CT5-V Blackwing to be revealed) even though I hate the front grilles, so not a hater on the car, I plan on owning one, but would love an alternative front-end. |

It seems crazy to think Prior Design would even consider anything but the red design.

Car design aesthetics can get away with a totally unique exterior design when some performance/engineering aspect makes the car unique/and or rare and therefore desirable.
When a car has a controversial exterior design and nothing under the skin to truly make it stand out in the crowd, something happens to its standing as an enthusiasts car. That something is, imo extreme depreciation. A lot of people who buy the car won't care, because as long as it's the newest anything, they'll have it. |

I like the first design as a standalone.
Not sure if I would change the front of a new car. I'm slowly getting used to the new look. I'm sure in some time, I will look at the old style kidneys and think they look weirdly small.

I liked it from the beginning. Others warmed up to it. Here's what you're missing: most people decided they didn't like it based on leaks and pics of camouflaged test mules. When they "came around" later, it was because they saw the actual car in most cases.

Wow... leave it to an aftermarket company to create a far more appealing visual design than highly paid, highly skilled designers who work for one of the world's largest automotive manufactures. Figures!

That's 18 people on the G80 list alone. That's about the same as the F80. WAIT HOLD ON! Are YOU saying people on IG have NOT NICE things to say? Of course plenty of people hate it. It's a huge design change and it won't be for everyone. At least BMW has the balls to do SOMETHING different.

How about giving us a unique NA inline 6 engine with 9k redline? That would something different. All they need to do is look at Porsche - evolutionary design with ultimate performance for enthusiasts = huge success for M. Giant grills that don’t add any performance or styling benefits are fixing things that weren’t broken. |

That big grill is "fake" and is only part of the front bumper facia cosmetic design. If you look inside the grill, you'll see that the bumper structure is still very present and obstructs ~30% of the grill area. The bumper structure is essential fro crash worthiness certification. Audi, Lexus and others do the exact same thing with their "big grills" that span the bumper section. So it is theoretically possible to make an aftermarket bumper cover that uses a body coloured panel to cover the structural bumper element. This would visually split the front and bottom grill elements without affecting airflow.

I'm baffled by the folks on here who literally get angry if any of us want to challenge or question BMW's designers? The MOST followed posts on here are fabulous posts of members who MODIFY their BMWs. The aftermarket is a MULTI-billion dollar industry. So, what is suddenly bad or wrong with this particular modification - - a simple front end appearance modification? Isn't this just the front end version of adding a carbon fiber diffuser and rear spoiler to the back end? Owners want a different look. No big deal. frankie, if you like the angry beaver design, GREAT! I'm happy for you. You need do nothing further. For others, an aftermarket front grill might be just the ticket, allowing them to drive a car that looks attractive to them, and is still a BMW! It's a free country. Let's value and embrace diversity of thought.
