I put an air tag in with the ECU to follow the journey. Went from Austin to Italy to Finland… Finland to Germany to Cincinnati back to Austin (well, still between Cinci and here).

So my delay was that the DHL agent was high and didn’t put the “invoice” along with the package (he just got back from lunch and I got a contact high it was still hazy in there). He had me sign the wrong paper then stuck a fragile sticker to the box 😂It got stuck in a Clearing Event in Finland for 5 days.

The solution was to use the online chat with DHL Express Finland (literally just Google it and use that link) then they sent over s link that I could electronically create the “invoice”… what they call invoice is just what you’re actually shipping. Used ECU worth 40 bux. Once that got cleared, Femto had it 2 days later and had a quick turnaround. I use a credit union to wire the money which wasn’t instant, took 2 days which is fine. Says that I should receive the ECU on Tuesday so fingers crossed.

Quick update:: ECU came back, installed nice and easy because I used labeled zip ties so I knew the order... took maybe 4 min. Hooked the car up to a battery tender since it's been sitting for a while. I used my '23 MacBook pro to do the flash... literally took 8 seconds. I thought something went wrong. All good, map switching, remote start... everything works fine. If someone got in and drove the car, they wouldn't know til they got on it... then it feels like stock but faster lol.
DPs and midpipe go in next week.

You’ll want to call and confirm… it has to be a wire transfer. ask if international is okay and how long the wire takes. I use a credit union which works but it took 2 days for Femto to receive it because it’s international.

Got the DME out and will be shipping it Monday. So far its been pretty straight forward process.

Shipped my ECU Monday late afternoon from NJ and 8AM Thursday morning it’s already on the way back to me. Very easy process and femto is very efficient.

Update - arrived back on Friday. So door-to-door round trip from the East coast US in 5 days.

Quick question before you guys flashed BM3 for the first time after getting your DME unlocked does it look like this?

I just want to make sure because I was about to flash it but it was giving warnings about making sure the DME was unlocked before flashing it lol

Yes thats what it looks like. If you haven’t already though you should start it and drive it around for a couple of minutes after reinstalling the ecu before flashing anything.

Yes you activate it first then ready to remove !
