If you were able to find one on the dealers lot expect to pay MSRP or higher. If you order one you can likely get it for MSRP but be prepared to wait. No dealer is going to discount the M3 right now. They can’t meet demand currently. If you wanted a M4 there are good deals to be had.
All that said remember this is the Internet. People will tell you they got 5-10% off. I suspect most of that is BS as people have waited 9 months to get their cars. Dealers know they can sell everyone they get quickly Expect 0% discount on a new ‘24 M3 Comp |

I think it depends how many allocations a dealer gets. I know United BMW outside Atlanta sells lots of M3’s. If thier list is short you might get one in 3-6 months. You need to find a volume M dealers as they wil get the most allocations.

C8s are actually being discounted and now in dealer stock compared to 12 months ago: https://www.macmulkin.net/new-corvette-inventory https://www.cioccacorvette.com/new-inventory/index.htm It's only a matter of time before discounting on competitor cars starts impacting BMW's demand / pricing. |

Until demand softens on the M3, I wouldnt expect a discount. Only way I could see a discount would be if someone spec'd one and backed out at the last minute. Even then the car wouldnt be on the lot for a long time unless it was a bad spec which I have seen a few of them.

Saw a broker on leasehackr advertising 1.5% off M3. Not sure details but worth a look if in the market.

As other stated, best bet for a deal is either a car that’s sitting on the lot (M4) or ordering your own spec and waiting. I ordered mine and got 3% below MSRP. At this point there’s no reason to pay over MSRP for any G8X in my opinion. Wait times have dramatically decreased from over a year to 3-6 months. Shop around to local dealers and see who wants to make the sale.

It seems as though BMW, for the M3, may be following the Porsche GT3 strategy of market demand -1. This artificial scarcity supports strong dealer pricing. And assumes strong demand… So, it will be interesting to watch what BMW does. Can they resist the urge for profits through volume? Oh, who cross shops with the C8? |

https://carfigures.com/us-market-brand/bmw/3-series This doesn't tell us the mix, but I would wager that over the past 2-3 years, the % of M3s making up the 3 Series sales numbers has been increasing. I don't think BMW is in the business of making the M cars more exclusive on purpose. It's actually had a negative impact on the BMW CCA membership numbers. As for cross-shopping the M2/M3/M4 for track purposes, I would cross shop the BMW M cars with the C8 Z51 and Mustang Dark Horse. I don't truly consider the 911 GTS, GT3, or Turbo in the same category because those cars are easily $50k+ more than a M3 Comp xDrive. |

just remember there is more to a deal then just amount of MSRP. There is mark up on other areas. lease, there is mf, finance there is APR, etc..
as far as allocations go, just remember also, if you have a allocation you will get a production number right away. If you dont then you dont have an allocation. Make sure you are not getting strung along.

Agree, we don’t know BMWs M strategy - other than to sell more cars/make greater profits (my assumption). If that’s the case, how will that affect M3 availability and corresponding pricing? Re mix. I’m sure BMW would prefer to sell more M versions just as Porsche’s GT mix percentage (as a part of 911 sales) has continued to rise. And I’m guessing that there is a lower rate of cannibalism from M cars to M SUVs than there is from cars to SUVs. Not sure what the BMW CCA has to do with it? The average BMW owner is very different today than 25 yrs ago. Just look at the pole re the g80 being your first M car. I joined the BMW CCA back in the 1980’s. I have two M3s and am not a member. I am a member of the PCA. Throw in for track purposes and it both makes the comparison very different and irrelevant as such a small percentage of M owners track their cars. I had a Shelby GT350 (the DH is said to be more of the Mach 1 successor) and it’s a very different car than the M3/4. Both great but different. As a M3 owner, I hope BMW continues to limit availability which will provide support to new and used pricing. But that’s a bit selfish… Anyway, it’s fun to speculate. |

So 24MY m4 orders are closed, but is it possible for a dealer to locate a car with the options you want at another dealer. My nashville dealer was dead set on me ordering a MY25 car and didnt offer to check.
