My G8x sketch
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I'm new to the forum as a member, but was visiting the forum for many years, and the reason I joined was this generation of the M3/M4 and the stir it makes! Long story short, BMW M3/M4 is my favorite car and I made the sketch of the new M4 based on available spy shots and I tried to make the proportions right. I didn't have the time to do the 3D effects using the the light and shadows and that is the reason this is more of an technical drawing, hence the f80 M4 blueprint for comparison. [IMG][/IMG] I hope this would ease the pain for some hard core members and fans, and if I find the time, I will do it with the 3D effects! In my humble opinion, the car will have the presence no other M3/M4 had before, and I'm pretty sure the car will look 100 times better in person compared to this terrible spy shot |

Seems so easy to go with a new modern grille (appropriately sized) with a body colored panel below for mounting a plate, then air-venting below. Keeps the modern look, but makes the grilles more proportional.

This is actually my second drawing of the car (I am the professor of art), and the first drawing I did was the sketch of the current 5 series that I have posted on German car forum, but I have done it 6 months before the official reveal and as it happens it was almost 99% accurate (I have a gift of good visualization, I don't work for the BMW or have the access to latest BMW models ). Anyway, the latest render is very similar to my drawing, but I think that the grill is too big and somewhat inaccurate in shape and the lights are based on 8 series lights. Other than that I think the new BMW M4 will look very similar! |

Thank you for your drawing. I would love to see it completed. I agree with your criticisms of the rendering I think your finished drawing would be a more accurate representation of the car.

I think you just about nailed it, very close to what we will see. Best so far. Can just intuitively tell. The renders tend to look a little bloated and just off, yours looks very much like what we would expect from a production car.

I think I finally got the real deal of the new front end. In my opinion it looks awesome and I can't wait to get one.

Many previous renders ignored that area and just have a giant vacuum grille, which, technically is true, however, as seen in the leaked 4 series, there is a slight distinction in that area even without a plate bracket in that the grille is closed off there, creating a subtle horizontal visual cue. While seemingly minor, this creates a very different design visually. You guys have really nailed it, I think. And it is not a bad looking car.
