I went to a detailer and had them apply XPEL stealth samples to a couple exotics, and in my opinion the XPEL stealth matte doesn't come close to the factory frozen paint... Not even close. That said, you get two for one: Matte paint and PPF, so there are benefits to the XPEL approach. |

that would be my exact ext spec, stunning, congrats !
Looks like darker colors like this dont really need the carbon bits although the front one is mandatory for me ( maybe aftermarket) |

Gorgeous color. How does one take care of it? Normal waxing and polishing would be out I presume.

Not sure if you're a big car cleaner/detailer but you would carry on as normal. I've not detailed a car for many years so some things may have changed but - 2 bucket wash method with a drying towel to pat dry or use a leaf blower or similar to reduce contact. That's it. No waxes, no polishes. So easier to keep clean but harder to restore if any larger chips or scratches occur.

Appears there is a fair amount of frozen grey getting ordered. IOM Green and Brooklyn Gray appear to be very popular as well.
Seems like someone has even ordered an AWD version? I wonder how the bi-color wheels would look..I can't see myself going darker than grey on the wheels...just a preference for the traditional look |

Love this color. My only question is how do you do paint correction on it? I know some will apply PPF, but doesnt that give a shine on top of what is essentially a mat finish? And polish and wax are out. So what if you get a thin scratch, or rock ding, or hard water spots, or any of the other offenses car finishes are prone to?

Also there is special ceramic coating for matte paint. it is not that difficult anymore to maintain frozen color, only thing is if you really get a scratch one you have to repaint the complete part. Also then it's difficult to match the color and you may see the difference. |
