I'm hoping you get what you want!
The early 2023s that are already in the US have the illuminated gloss black on the dash and rhombicle below. I'm assuming that's what I'll have. (I didn't order the illuminated M-trim. What we really need to see is an early 2023 that ordered the illuminated M trim)

I am currently at the port in the US and should have my car in 10 days or so

I'm sure you will share some awesome pics in about 10 days!

If that is the case, I am fine with the gloss only on that part of the dash. I can't imagine touching that very often, and I am usually the only one in the communicating car.

Let's see!

My CA stated final week of September for delivery!

I'm on the ship now… I'm really curious because I didn't order the M illuminated trim (couldn't because it's a 230) but I ordered the m package. Will know soon!

What did you ultimately decide upon?

Talked with some friends and ended up getting.. nothing. What it came down to is that I garage park, and as much as I like this paint it isn't like it's an individual or custom paint. If anything happens, I'll get a respray and blend on the bumper in a few years if needed. And if theres dings anywhere else... well, these options wouldn't have helped anyway.

Instead of spending over $4,000 for protection and a coat, I figured I'd keep that money and spend $40 or so at the car wash doing self-washes every month. Did my first self-wash ever last weekend and it was actually sort of fun, probably because I really like the car.

I am also getting neither. I enjoy washing my cars and with a good wax or sealant, I have no difficulty getting the car clean.. I just don't get the point / value of ceramic.

As for PPF, I got a $750 quote for front bumper and $2000 for full frontal. But if I do the bumper sooner or later, the hood will get a nick. And if I do full frontal, then the A pillar or roof.. it's inevitable

I keep going back and forth. I've truly never had issues with paint chips or rock damage on my previous cars but I know as soon as I decide against PPF, it's going to happen. As far as the ceramic coat goes, I think I've decided against it for now. I'll use that money to pay someone locally to wash it a few times a year.

I'm just having my front bumper done and the entire hood. The rest will not likely take any damage from rocks or debris.

PPF full front, rockers, and rear bumper. My 135 ended up with a shit ton of chips and peeling paint on the front, and I think the gloss black trim has an extreme risk of looking really really shitty in a few years without it.

The gloss black is what I'm most worried about as well. I got a quote for full front, rocker panels at $2700, plus $1500 for full ceramic. I'm willing to spend more to protect the investment but that's a little more than I want to spend. Has anyone had any luck with the glass black trim polish products that are available?

That's about what I paid. But I had the rear bumper done as well. No swirling on those piano black pieces. So so nice.

Initially, I was just going to do all the exterior piano black trim in PPF. But decided to splurge and get more. I'm happy I did. Kinda regret not going Full PPF.

My G87 M2 is going to get Full PPF and Ceramic.

I recently had the following done:

-paint correction

+

PPF applied to:
-whole hood
-front bumper
-mirrors
-side panels/skirts

Ceramic applied to:
-whole vehicle
-rims/calipers

My only issue… which is currently being redone today was the ppf on the hood b/c there were a few tiny pieces of what looked like microfiber from a towel left underneath. And when you'd walk up to it that'd be the first thing my eye was drawn to. But the detailer I went to is upholding his word and correcting this issue. Fingers crossed it turns out better.

Sorry for crap pic but it was taken right after I'd picked it up from detailer and had parked for work lol

Btw I live in the Midwest so our winters are either crazy dry or insanely intense.

Do the ppf yourself for the front. Will cost you around $800.

Fairly standard I’d say, assuming it is an absolute top notch installer
