100% not made by them lol. Its rebranded bs as always

While I've stated I do agree with the OP's frustration, I wouldn't be expecting any change from VT or written apologize stating they are sorry we changed the design. Instead, if I really wanted that sound I'd found another way to create it by having someone modify the existing mid pipe based off what photos others have shared or purchase something else. But again I'm different person, I just don't give up and find away to achieve what I'm after.
It has been explained that the initial design (from G80Soom videos) was a prototype and worked for only the MT cars. They changed the design to work on MT and AT cars. Then they had fitment issues so they added a flex section and made some other adjustments to eliminate that issue.

Many companies have had issues on this platform with their initial products. Just look at the suspension section. They all do the best they can to improve their products and satisfy customers.

I've seen video of another brand's midpipe that sounds different even in the same video. Exhaust mods sound different and are subjective anyway.

That sound epic.
Man I have to fork out cash for downpipes. I had promised myself no more spending on this bottomless pit. I will also need the CAN module to address the cel.

I think you had the VT single midpipe paired with the Remus Race rear, right? But it had a nasty drone, correct? Too bad, cause otherwise it was epic sound as well.

Try Eisenmann rear with VT and stock DPs. I think that can also sound great. Or go with catted DPs to avoid CEL.

Thanks mate. Yes that was me. It was a year ago. How time flies.
I have got the MPE now with the VT midpipe. Sounds great. But prefer the crisp and clear sound of catless downpipes, but wish there was no smell.
I agree, in that case, the 200 cell downpipes would be the way to go.

Do you have a video of your current setup? I'm curious to hear that combo.

Sounds good but I was asking madmedman for video of his VT midpipe + MPE combo. I haven't heard anyone with that combo.

I think DPs with single midpipe exhaust makes for very exotic sound.

Hey, apologies, haven't had a chance to make a video yet. On my list of things to do when I could get a hold of someone to hold the phone for the video.

Hey everyone,
In regards to “SOOMs” midpipe sounding different, his midpipe was part of our initial production batch. Our development was done on one of the first G8x to hit US soil and this car was indeed a manual. After producing these midpipes we sent them out to our customers around the country. Unfortunately, many people reported issues with fitment on automatic cars, so we issued replacements to be sent to these individuals while redeveloping the midpipe on an Automatic G8x. Customers received corrected replacement units and sent the originals back. The automatic version of the G8x is by far the most popular version with roughly five automatic cars for every one manual.

In that initial production run, “Soom’s” car was the only G8x equipped with the manual transmission and his system fit perfectly. Unfortunately, it did not fit the automatic cars, therefore requiring us to adjust the midpipe in order to allow them to fit on those versions of the G8x. This oversight was due to our excitement and intentions of being the first on the market. We have since learned from this and implemented stronger R&D procedures to ensure systems are fully developed and tested on all versions of any vehicle before being sent out to customers. The current design is slightly different in the front section but we truly believe it still offers an incredible sound experience as is our mission at Valvetronic Designs. Stay tuned for more G80 developments coming next year!

Is it possible to order the "old" version if we have a manual?

This times 100. The "new" version doesn't sound bad...... it just doesn't sound good. They should offer the "original" version for manual cars.

Can you show examples of that? Which videos are you referring to?
