horn not working after installing new steering wheel
I installed a carbon fiber led steering wheel. Installed it once and broke a piece of trim. So had to take it off and reinstall. This time everything looks good but horn is not working. Dealership refuses to even look at it. Any ideas on cause?

Number of things are possible if it's not simply just a issue of a loose connection. It'll be hard to say for anyone here, you'll need to get it checked out in-person.
Does the horn work with the OEM steering wheel? |

Horn works when I press it from the app, so it’s not the horn itself that is bad.
It’s something about the mechanism or switch but I don’t have any sight into how the horn actually works Was curious if anyone else does |

Check all connections. Reinstall old wheel, test honk. Reinstall new wheel, test honk. If it’s not working then the new wheels may have a defective part or wiring.

I figured it out. I have the same issue. The horn is actually still working. If you take the airbag back off and you push in on the ring where the horn is, it will honk, but for some reason the airbag is not contacting and allowing it to honk, anybody have any ideas on how to fix this or what the torque setting should be on the three screws that hold the horn mechanism in place?

It’s the silver thing with the three screws holding it in place and it’s sitting on 3 springs. |

Im think I ivertigjtened those screws. BecUse the first time I installed it worked
And this time, I definitely tightened them more because the airbag was sticking out a little before |

I tried loosening it and it didn’t work, I think it needs to be tighter as the top part works after tightening but I think I still need to tighten it more.

I actually just went out and checked on it and it’s definitely something to do with those three screws being screwed in the correct torque settings. I got the top part the horn to work better, but the bottom part still needs to be played with, but I’ll mess with the more over the weekend.

I used a torx screw driver because it’s flat on the end. A regular screw driver is a pain and you really need that flat end. There are a few videos on YouTube that show you how to pop it off. I can do it in less than a minute now.
