I've finally placed my own vote. M3.
1) Cheaper 2) Looks are a little more under the radar, still aggressive. 3) Fender gap is tolerable compared to M4. |

I may have to eat my earlier post if it's true the chip shortages are going to delete options I care about (e.g. Laserlights). My timeline is needing a car within the next 5 or 6 months, so I can't wait a year or more for the supply shortages to resolve.
In light of that, I may have to opt for the M3 over the M4. I'm not as sold on the exterior design, but it is cheaper, and if I'm honest with myself the last couple of years with this car I'm likely to be sticking a car seat in back anyway. |

To me, the M3>M4 (in no particular order):
1) Looks better to me 2) If you're going to have a big car as the M3/4, might as well have it be more practical 3) Ever so slightly cheaper

Having a toddler basically required a 4 door car, but even if I didn't have him, I'd still go with M3. To my eyes, the M3 looks so much better than the M4. The proportions just look "right" where the M4 looks just a little off maybe on the side profile.

Clearly it's a personal point of preference depending on circumstances and taste.
I need a baby seat in the back so M3 is a no brainer but also prefer the looks over the M4. M4 rear arches leave a lot to be desired in comparison imo |

I'm a 2 door-car man all the way and M4 is no exception for me to take over M3. Again as a lot of guys said earlier, it is personal reference and for me, it looks sportier with just 2 doors and less time/ work when coming to washing / waxing / maintenance etc...
and we should not squash other's choice They are both great looking cars. Enjoy your choice. |

Wow. Cant believe how bad the 3 is crushing the 4 in this poll. I have a 3 and IMO its the pinch and pull look of the 4 that really kills it for me. Drove both cars back to back before purchase and felt like the 3 was more balanced and on the same curve at the same speed, rpm etc the 4 stepped out and the 3 held its line.
