0-100 km/h in 3.9s?

Hi guys I know once official reviewers get hold of the New M4 the figures of 0-100 on the M4 competition should be better than the current 3.9 sec

With that being said i am absolutely shocked that It only improved from BMW standpoint officially by 0.1 sec

Who else was hoping for 3.5 sec atleast *

G8x M3/M4 Competition 510hp 0-60 3.8s
F8x M3/M4 Competition 444hp 0-60 3.8s

M Series 0-60 (stock)
G8x: 3.8s (should have been <3.3s official)
F8x: 3.8s
E9x: 4.3s
E46: 4.8s
E36: 5.7s

The heavier weight washed out the performance gain on G8x. F8x was also conservative figure at the time back in 2013 launch at stock config. Any tuned F8x at 510+ hp can sprint faster.

BMW has been conservative on performance number historically, was hoping 3.3s as official figure on G8x (based on previous generation improvement number -0.5s at least). AWD version should be <2.9s, though without solving the weight issues, it's wishful thinking!

Don’t care much about 0-60 time with a rear drive... you want faster 0-60, get some nice fat cup 2 tires and warm them up... I think we should be able to get these from factory now though. What I do care about is the 100-200 time... I am secretly hoping for 7-7.5 seconds, at least very unlikely though

Agreed with this. New M3/M4 are slow due to massive weight.

With a proper launch i reckon it would do 3.5 on rwd format and 3.3 on awd with it's zf.

For reference, something I did little while back:

To remove the effect of the added grip at launch provided by PSC2 when the cars are so fitted, I only set out to capture the 100 to 200km/h acceleration. I compiled 21 different tests and then averaged the results for each M4 variant (DCT only). While this is not the most scientific approach, it does provide a decent perspective. Here are the results:

100km/h -> 200km/h acceleration
9.52 M4 Base (6 samples)
.... ∆ 0.20
9.32 M4 CP (9 samples)
.... ∆ 0.67
8.65 M4 cs (4 samples)
.... ∆ 0.20
8.45 M4 GTS (2 samples)
The G8X is definitely quicker than the base and CP F8X.

A 3.9s 0-100km/h isn’t to shabby really, especially for a RWD with the engine over the front wheels. I reckon the AWD version will knock 0.5s off this time, so very close to M5 with 90hp less.

Guys, forget about G80 being anywhere near as fast as M5 if the current quoted times are correct! ... My F90 does 7.0 seconds 100-200 on a shitty day with everything in comfort... 8.6 seconds is almost as fast as the F80... there is something fishy going on here. Only way to find out is wait for the actual car and seeing it for ourselves! Specially 9.5 seconds on a manual sounds very slow for a 500hp car.

I personally want it faster than the F80 M3 at least...

Please BMW and thank you! Hopefully you are reading this and still have time to program that extra boost before production starts!

im sure it will be faster no doubt. I dont think there ever has been a previous M faster then the current has there? I dont think so. I drove a x3M comp for a few weeks and it was a ANIMAL, these G8x will for sure be rocket ships

X3m does 10 seconds 100-200. I would expect the m3/m4 competition to be in the low 8 seconds.

My M5 Comp is still at the running in stage so will be interesting to see how quick it feels but I’m not sure your guesstimate of the M3-4 Comp will be that far behind the M5 Comp is correct. The x3M Comp does the 100-200 in 10.13 and the x5M Comp takes 9.14s so I reckon within a second it very likely.

I truly hope! We won’t need to wait for AWD version as the rear drive should be faster 100-200 anyways! Let’s wait and see...
