95000£ w my config, and it still does not have the coil overs, the front M lip, side skirts and whatever parts to make it faster, rear spoiler would have been good in the day, but too small. Wheels.

So about 110000£ for an M3 with massive grills.

LOL.... I am sure it will be fast.

That was the designer's intent. He wanted bold and aggressive as well as to differentiate as much as possible from us plebes with the G20. If it's any consolation these M cars at least looks better than the G22. That car is an abomination at every angle on the exterior.

Furthermore, I am sure some future G80/G82 owners are happy for this new aesthetic as well. There have been some who felt that their M cars were being watered down. They felt their real M cars didn't reflect the 6 figure price tag and needed to be differentiated from the peasants and their lowly M performance cars aka fake M's etc. Well at least now those folks got their desire answered with the G80.

Needless to say, I am not interested in the G80/G82. The G87 is what I am leaning towards which is years away from debut.

i need to configure an M5 to see what the price difference is. I mean, hell, they both look massive. Might as well get the V8.

Trying to configure it to invoke any emotion. I must have studied it from every angle for 15 minutes, LOL. There's no way to make the front end look good. Ironically it's not just the grill, but the entire design of the front end.

Not really liking any of the wheel choices. Just OK. The gloss black all the way around the bottom is super tacky. It would be okay if you could convert it all to carbon fiber. Does anyone know if the CF package does this? From the configurator, I would guess no as it appears the front corners and the border between the rear diffuser and the bumper remain gloss black. Honestly, I'd prefer body color all the way to the bottom in lieu of CF. The rear spoiler on the competition model looks really small.

Am I the only one that thinks a big M3 Competition label beneath the shifter in the center console is unnecessary?

As to the comment that the car design says "look at me", ironically I'd prefer to go completely unnoticed in this design.

I'm not sure how much of this is on the shoulders of the designers vs. corporate. I lean toward the latter since BMW really strikes me as an MBA-driven company over the past 10-15 years.

Concept cars are where designers are free to do whatever they want and they never did a concept with this crazy the front. The M3 CSL Hommage is a "big grille" concept the designers put out and it looks fantastic. The shots are definitely being called outside the design studio.

The German Site had the 18F/19R stock wheels and they look great!

Unlike IG, or what BMW thinks, I want subtle, not sure who wants the Civic Type R look, but after playing with the car on the Konfigurator.....

Happy to see the darker colors with the small wheels tone the car down.

After all, people felt like they needed M cars to stand out more, especially for prices approaching six figures, so of course they went for the look of a.........$36k Civic Type R?

I could live with these exterior colors (not exactly what I would have picked, would have loved to see mineral white, a true red, or M specific blue, but workable).

Its the damn interior choices, they are complete shit. black is so boring, silver wont work with jeans (which I wear 80% of the time), orange and blue don't go with anything (with yellow trim blue can only be picked with yellow exterior). Even though I like orange, not this orange on leather, needs to be Sakhir orange for that to work then it would have gone with black/greys/white/green, even blue...

I can't comment on who signed off on what since I don't work there lol. I work for a German multinational corporation but it ain't BMW. Anyhow, it's true as they say no company can make everyone happy. I am not upset since for months we knew about these grills and to be fair they look better than some of the early images.

I have decided awhile ago that I wouldn't get a G80 mainly due to size. M2 is what interests me so not much disappointment here. I am not one of those fortunate guys who are already on the Porsche lot to get their next fix.

Can someone photoshop out the part of the lower fascia that curves up at the edges? Flatten the paintwork section to the edge of the bumper or even eliminate the curtain altogether. IMO this is all it really needs. Perfect for an LCI. Brings back the A shaped front fascia as well.

Also not seeing the 6MT option. Wasn't this supposed to be there on the base model M3/4?

On German site, gloss black is standard trim for interior. CF that was standard on the F80 is an up-charge.

To get the buckets you need to get a package with ceramic brakes and other options and only available with the bigger expensive wheels.

No cloth on any of the sites, looks like there is no cloth option.

anyone know what tint is in Brooklyn grey? looks really interesting (love my DG X3M), maybe green/brown hues? really only black leather goes with it though which is sad, boring exterior and interior...

I suspect that additional Priority 1 Individual selections will be added in the not-too-distant future.

The lack of a cloth option is certainly unfortunate, and that will be missed. But as far as leather choices go, the out-going model only had four as well: Sakhir Orange, Silverstone, Sonoma Beige, and Black. All of the other colors were Individual options which, like I say, are probably yet to come.

These were never on the US config, were they special order only? how much did they run? guessing like paint, something around $5K?

I have had full silverstone interior for my F83 the past 3 years, jeans do not stain. Ivory white, which is available for X5's will stain. Just apply a leather protector.

Yeah I love the M2. If they work on the steering a little more and update the interior I'll be happy. But given the weight gain of the G80 I fear for the next generation M2.
