Just called BMW genius this morning, they told me mine is scheduled for production July 31. How accurate are they with these dates?

If you have your production number, add it to your My Garage in MyBMW and use the Chrome Extension to get current status on the build. If you're scheduled for 7/31, you should already have a build week and be at or near status 112. You can check this using the method in the link. If you're status 112 w/ the production date 7/31, then that's basically it barring any really unlucky delays.

In my experience, the Geniuses are as accurate as the information they’re given.

I was told for about a month that my build was Week 30 (July 23rd).

Today (less than one week until July 23rd) they told me my build week changed and that my car will be built in September.

They won’t tell you why’s. They’ll only be able to tell you what they have in front of them.

If you get a VIN this week or next, you’ll be in Week 31. If not, you’ll likely be Week 36-38, unless you get hit with another delay.

Just checked today and it looks like I hit 150 status today. I have my vin and production date. Does this mean it will go into production on 8/2? This is all new to me.

Congrats! You're in for sure then. Production date is the scheduled date for *completion* of the build, so you'll probably go in Monday or Tuesday (7/31 or 8/1) and be out of production by Wednesday (it goes pretty quickly through the line)

Then you'll be waiting for train rides to the port, boat ride, transportation to the dealer, etc etc. It's more waiting after that :P

So that could be 2 weeks to 2 months lol

Probably not 2 weeks, 2 months is more likely than that :P

Really though, if you're out by 8/2, probably get to the port early week of 8/7, hopefully on a boat by the end of that week, then 2-4 weeks from then to dealer.

You can call Genius 1-2 days after you get "In Transit" status (195) and get the boat you're on, then track it using vessel finder. They'll also have an estimated arrival date on our side. From there, it's anywhere from 3-10 days to get to the dealer. I'd say overall a month is a decent estimate.

Wow! 150 with a 9/4 production date, that's pretty early but I guess makes more sense with individual colors.
