I don't think I've ever seen a base/6MT car with this charging pad.
Also remember something about the '21 manual cars having the wireless pad in the armrest console?

I just retrofitted this into my M3. I purchased the part from getbmwparts.com

I wasn’t able to find the part in the original post but was able to find one that works:

Took about 15 minutes. There are two torx screws under the cupholder rubber. The usb plug was easier to figure out than the cigarette lighter plug.

Hey guys I finished retrofitting the wireless charger on my G80xdrive. Everything connected with no problem at all. Digital card and phone. What I noticed is that now the car does not open or close when I approach or walked away from the car. I checked the settings and the everything checks out. Any ideas?

I know us MY22s are without the wireless pads, but does anyone know what the Base G8x had before the deletion?
Was it the same charging pad or was it inside the armrest console?

Im 99.9% certain is the same. The cubby in front of the cup holders is where its located. If you have a NFC key reader there, then the charger will fit just the same way. Youd not even noticed a different looking tray other than the LED light that lights up when its charging.

Many of the other BMW models use this same part. Im almost certain its the same for 6MT too.

I am not certain if this is magsafe though. I suspect its just a normal wireless charger.

It's just normale Qi Charging. Otherwise it would only work with iPhone and not with any other device.

I have a 6MT so without NFC. Can I still install wireless charger?

Sorry, Im not sure. Are you sure you dont have a NFC reader? Ive never heard of G8X not having one.

I'm sure I don't. I was told by the dealership that the Base model doesn't have it as an option.

Can others with 6MT confirm?

Yup, 6MTs don't have the NFC reader, so no card key or iphone key

As described in catalogue new LCI G20/G80 with idrive 8 will be delivered with QI wireless charger at 15W with cooling system.

Who knows if new charging pad will be compatidble with pre LCI version with idrive 7.

Now, I had to also disable carplay and the cars wifi for bimmercode to connect via enet cable and lighting adapter.

I do not know if it was the coding that allowed me to repair my digital key OR if it was disabling the cars wifi and carplay.

So if any of you loose the ability to re pair your iphone as the digital key. Try disabling the cars wifi and carplay. And or do the coding so the car will tell you that youve left your iphone on the charger.

UPDATE: I had to close my drive door after doing the programming. It kept erroring out and was stuck then I closed my driver door and it started working. Very odd but it’s finally working again. Thank you all!

Just installed this part # and confirm is correct. Wireless charger works, iPhone as key works, key card works. I've just not coded the options for leaving your phone behind yet. Wanted to add a few notes here referencing OPs original pics though.

PIC# - NOTE
2 - Theres 2 small push tabs on the nearer 12v adapter side bottom to get the cup liner out, use trim tool here after separated enough to remove it.
3 - Use T20 torx bit to remove the cup holder, pulls out easy without using trim tool.
4/5 - Use pick to remove the USB charger cable and set aside on towel just as shown.
6 - To separate that plug (mine was tight but popped out) you can get some extra room by rerouting the wire a bit.
