Anyone ordering a stripper model?
Haven't ever bought new..
But, Iv been craving to get into something after selling the GTR .. and quite frankly, thus car seems like it hits the spots , and would keep it longterm (m3 sedan) would also consider extending the factory warranty so I can put the car through hell. My 2016 M4 was fully loaded with every option..I could really give a shit about extended leather, heads up display, executive package, with the stupid cameras all around..and all the other useless bullshit I didn't even notice. all I need is a back up camera..and the Harman Karon stereo. Is anyone else feel the same way ? |

I hear ya… The options are a nice to have not needed. I still look back with the backup camera on my F80. When I do make the G80 move it will be 6MT, Sunroof, executive package. I'm all over the place trying to settle on a color. |

Each to their own. I basically had what you're looking for in my M2C, and the stripper-aspects of it weren't satisfying for what I want out of daily driver. That said, there's a $25k US delta between my car and some of the more fully-kitted out examples others on here have bought.
But again, each to their own. That's the upside of BMW's extensive option list (or Merc's and Porsche's)...go as silly as you want or don't want. |

For less than $5k in options, you can have a car that feels fully equipped. Executive ($1800), Parking ($800), laser lights ($1000), CF interior trim ($950). HUD, remote start, 360 cameras, best lights/halo design, racy materials in the places that matter. You can have a 6MT M3 for just under $75k MSRP, xDrive for just over $80k (and you get bundled 826M wheels with that package).
The ROI on choosing a no-options car over a reasonably-optioned one is too low. If you lease, the benefit is even lower. |

The carbon pack both exterior and the seats really Jack up the price and individual paint. The rest is pretty minimal cost when spread over the long term.
It may not be just about cost but the other factor is you will get back some of your money when you sell on a car with nice options so the net cost is a consideration I can see the appeal of a stripped back no nonsense approach. You can have a lot of a fun for little money in a base model with no options! |

Dravit gray and interior wood trim were my only options. Next time, I'd skip the wood trim. Tartufo leather was a no cost option. This car is my business daily and I wanted to keep the lease payment low. But frankly, had I been purchasing, this is pretty close to what I would have ordered. The sticker was $72.9k, which I think offers a lot of value. No regrets. I was happy to get the allocation.
Edit: actually, one caveat. My 18/19 wheel package came with Conti tires and it appears that the Pilot Cup 2s may not be available (yet?) in this size combination. I'm not sure what options I've have when it comes time to buy new tires. But the PC2s have been so well reviewed, I'll be a little disappointed if I can't get them for the 18/19 combination.

My G80 has upgraded 19-20 inch wheels, PB paint, laser lights and CF trim. That's all I added. Red calipers are free, and I took away extended shadow line trim. At NO point do I ever say "damn I wish I had…" I hate gesture control, and turned it off on my X3. I didn't like the HUD on my 335. I don't need help parking, nor do I need a power tailgate on a sedan. I wasn't comfortable in the CF seats, and I didn't like the extended leather dash. I never feel like I'm roughing it that's for sure.

I ordered a *real* stripper. 2 options: ventilated seats and the color. Nothing else, not even CF interior. 2022 xDrive, so 78k with destination fee.
My logic? Well, I'm not turned off by the basic interior—I don't think the aluminum looks cheap and I don't see the point of a leather dashboard (though I don't have anything against people who like those options). I have quite a few overweight friends so I didn't get buckets, and I'm not the kind of guy who wants everybody to stare at the exterior, either. I want a good-looking, comfortable, and powerful daily driver that I can take on weekend trips to rip around curvy Hill Country roads. Also, I live in South Texas, so I need something a bit better than the endless 'stangs, Challengers, and Camaros one sees down here. Not trying to piss in anyone's cornflakes if they went all $25k on the options train, but it's just not me. Nearly all of my cars have been strippers. Hell, I always say "no" when Burger King asks me if I want cheese on my whopper. |

Yea I got a loaded 81k - 82k msrp f82 (non comp every other option basically) and will be getting a stripper G80 next lol all I care about is the upgraded wheels & HK. All those excessive options can add 20-30% to your lease payment, waste of $$$
