I'm considering Frozen Orange with Kyalami Orange interior

Ok, ok, so I know its individual preference and completely subjective, but I’m trying to make up my mind on which colour combo to go for. I’m thinking Frozen Orange on Kyalami. Have never had an orange car nor frozen paint. This is probably a mid life crisis car/colour but the wife isn’t saying no, so I think I’m good to go.

Anyone gone for this combo? Thoughts on the frozen paints? Do bright colours drive you bonkers after the initial excitement wears off? Do they hold their value better?

Where I live in Thailand, we have minimal choices on options. It's effectively a standard spec M4 Competition with the carbon seats (no M3 option) but you can choose any interior and exterior colour combo including some of the Individual choices and Extended leather all for the same price. I might add that the price is already ridiculous, but that’s a topic for another thread. Oh, and once I order, its an 8 month wait. :-(

I personally think that would look very good. I love bright colors. To me, it's dark colors that get boring after awhile

I don't think the frozen orange would necessarily get tiresome after a while but I think the orange on orange combo could definitely wear on you after a bit. It's a tough call but go with what your instincts tell you and I bet you'll be extremely happy with your choice.

Frozen Orange sounds very cool but agreed I think the orange interior might be too much on top of it. Maybe go with the bright blue instead?

Personally, I would do Silverstone all day for the contrast. Otherwise I would say maybe the Dark Fjord blue or Tartufo, if you have those options where you live? Maybe even the Fiona red for contrast?

Yas blue and yellow interior may just clash too much, and I like loud colors.

Here's the options...

Heres the complete set of options - all are the same price regardless of partial of full leather and normal or individual colour...and the bucket seats are also a no choice no cost option...

How come I don't see the frozen orange color in the BMW Individual configurator? That would be an interesting color choice, but I think Orange and Orange are a bit too much, you want contrast... and what color caliper should go with this frozen orange? I can only think of black on black wheels

I think KO goes well with many more exterior colors than it was given credit for at launch (before cars started showing up). Now, I personally would give KO consideration with almost any exterior.

i say go for it

Almost as if the designers knew what they were doing.......

My car has the full leather Kyalami Orange interior and i love it. But to combine orange inside with orange outside would be a bit too much orange for me. And i am Dutch so i love orange more than most people......

It doesn’t appear in my configuration either - built it is limited in choices for everything else too. I have seen pictures of it online though - so I do know that it exists. You’re making me think I’d really better check that the dealership know what they are talking about….

Garage List

Imo you should go bright exterior with dark interior or dark exterior with bright interior.
Orange on orange is not something I'd do. I think black or silverstone would be a good choice.
Oh & I'd definitely go full leather option with the buckets.

Yep - I’m definitely coming round to that way of thinking. However, they just threw a spanner in the works. I can order and wait up to 8 months, or for around 5% less cash I can have an M850i Coupe - but its model year 2019 - delivery mileage only. They have one in Sunset Orange with black interior which is lovely.

They also have an M8 Comp in frozen MBB (MY2020), but that would mean extending my HP finance out from 2 years to 4 years. And I think possibly a divorce also!!

Your interior/exterior color spec would definitely be a head-turner for sure. My personal taste is to have contrasting colors for interior and exterior, but in the end it's all about your preference.

Either way, I'd love to see real-life pics of your build once it's approved and finalized!

I am not sure what color this is in this video : i think it might be frozen orange - but can not really tell because of the lighting. Also the car seems to have the Kyalami Orange interior, but it is not showing clear. But anyway : here it is (it looks great in my opinion !!) :

This is my opinion as well as you need contrast. If you get orange exterior paint I think you have to go black or dark grey interior.

Things I think would look good paired with KO interior-

Mint Green (teal and orange are a pretty common pairing in colorful design due to them being opposites on the color wheel)

Atlantis Blue (well any blue really)

Purple

True Greens

Obvious neutral colors like black, white, grey.

Things I don't think would go well with it-

Yellow

Maybe red, but I guess people that like Chiefs/Redskins colors would be down for that.

Obviously no-color fuddy duddies need not apply (you get em in most non generic individual color threads so I feel like they'd lose their minds at some of these paired with orange.
