Full leather question

Hi

Can anyone tell me where the additional leather is located in the full leather package vs extended? I have ordered silverstone and would like to know if it adds any contrasting pieces and where they are? Photos would be great for anyone who has full silverstone...thanks

Lower dash and upper dash are leather instead of rubber/plastic. Depending on color of the leather, the lower dash is the same (i.e., fiona red full leather adds red leather on the lower dash).

Not sure if full SS comes with SS on the lower dash or black leather on the lower dash.

you'll also have stitching on the upper door panels and the dash.

I'll add that if you want your car's interior to look lux I strongly recommend the full leather option. BMW's plastic dash looks very cheap, and is not on the level of say MB's leatherette dashes. If you just want a driver's car, and you don't care much for that then don't option it. You save money and weight.

The configurator does a pretty good job at showing you what it'll look like.

The plastic dash doesn't really ever look as good as leather, but there are levels to how cheap it looks.. I deeply disliked the way my M2C's plasti-rubber (new word!) dash looked, but the G80 isn't nearly as offensive. If I had actually specc'd my car, I would have gone with full leather just as a reaction to how much I disliked the dash in my M2, but as it turns out, I've been fine with just the extended leather in my M3.

Don't the different color options give you different areas as well? I thought the red didn't have as much contrast on the seats as the other ones but I could be mistaken.

So....See Here:

All black leather on top, silverstone on the bottom

and the doors:

The bottom is plastic, because you're more likely to hit it with your shoes. The top black is leather.

Can you confirm the dash above the glove box is also a leather piece. I know the full leather, there's stitching above the drivers gauges, I can't tell if the leather extends all the way to the passenger side.

The whole piece is leather all the way across.

Once you have full leather you'll always notice cars that don't have it. It's a must have in my opinion.

I bought my G80 off the showroom floor a while back. Heavily optioned, and full leather was one of them. At the time, I was a little bummed that I was paying for an option I really didn’t care for. Man, after living with full leather for the past 5 months, it’s one option I would always need. It changes the interior quite a bit. It also has the perfect matte finish, so it gives the interior an extremely high quality look, feel and smell.

It is ABSOLUTELY worth every penny. So much, in fact, that I optioned the equivalent of BMW's Full Leather in my 992. I've been spoiled by BMW over the last decade and couldn't stomach a bare bones Porsche interior. BMW's Full Leather option adds an upscale feel to the interior.

Go to know as I had full leather in my 991s. Definitely gave the car a more luxurious feel.

Indeed! ….and you'll spend less optioning it on your M too. I think I spent an extra $6k-ish on leather in the 992 just to feel like it matched my prior M3/M4's with Full Leather. I can't wait to see your car.

Ugh...you people keep making me spend more money!

My concern is that we have a Frenchie who travels everywhere with us, and i am very concerned about her nails and the leather on the top of the door. My dog is more important than my car so don't bother saying don't take her. Haha

Do any of those leather "ceramics" actually protect against scratches like that?

Also, is the non-leather dash the same as the G20 dash?

did you get all the pics you wanted? all the dash is leather even the area around and below the steering it is so nice when you touch it! I'll post some high res images of the stitching if you want. IMO the full leather elevates the car to the level of 100K car. I always thought BMW plastic is rougher and of lower quality than say Merc or Audi of the same tier so full leather was a must for me.... love it.

More the merrier. We don't really have any close up shots of the full leather.

Animal nails will scrape the leather, so if you've already conceded that the dog is coming no matter what, don't pay the extra.

I think so. Thanks for asking! Enough info that I changed my order to full leather silver stone. Exterior is IOMG.
