2022 X3MC vs 2022 M3C xdrive???
Anyone else cross shopping the two? I’m 90% sold on G80 xdrive but damn the X3MC in Marina Bay Blue is soooo tempting (plus I can get it sooner)..

I traded it on a G80 and I love it, granted it's RWD but the suspension is very well sorted. |

My wife drives a 2020 X3MC in Donington and I have a 2022 M3C xdrive in TR. The X3 is a great car and more practical as we have kids and need the utility of an suv sometimes. The M3 is more fun as it sits lower and car carve corners better. Otherwise both are plenty fast.

X3MC is more compromised as a sporty SUV than the G80 is as a sporty sedan. While it has a little more utility and a lot more ground clearance it rides worse as a daily driver. I like my X3MC but there's a reason I'm probably going to move into a G80 as cars are better than SUV's. The one thing I will really miss is never having to worry about scraping the front end and how it's more carefree of a driving experience seeing it easily clears most road obstacles or snow banks, etc.

DILEMMA!!!
I have a G80 for delivery in November (week 45). Oxide Grey Tech Pack Comfort Pack I had an F80 which I loved but was too compromised as a daily. Gearbox to jerky and to harsh a ride for daily use (20" 666 alloys). Amazing as a Sunday drive but a Lotus would be fine for that. I test drove the G80 and the gearbox was smooth in comfort. Suspension was much more compliant and it did the fast bit well (not as rawkus as the F80 mind). I was sold. HOWEVER.... My dealership has offered me X3M Comp LCI with 0 deposit and the monthlys are the same as the G80. Deposit on the G80 is £10k ($13k). Basically, wait for the G80 and sink the £10k deposit OR get an X3M LCI and pocket the £10k... or put it towards a lotus? Is the X3M ComP LCI a good enough daily... bearing in mind I WILL upgrade to the MSS springs. HHEEELLPPP!!!! |

I was between the M3/M4 xdrive vsX4M.
I just liked how amazing the Sao Paulo Yellow looked on the X4M. Also, I feel like I could enjoy a sports activity coupe year round without worrying about severe weather. Lastly, I previously had an M235i and maybe I got tired of having a car. It's also a lot easier to get in and out off.

I had a 2020 X3mc and now have a 2022 m3x, the M3x is leaps and bounds beyond the X3mc. While I loved my x3, the M3 is so much better and enjoyable.
Quicker too hands down. |

I have both a 21 X4M and a 22 M4Cx, if you're looking for outright performance in all categories, then the cars are what you're looking for. Don't get me wrong, the SUV's are quick and can handle, but you can feel the weight difference and lower gravity center with the cars.

I test drove an X3 M40? So not a full M and it felt pretty nice. Although it wasn't fast at all. It felt "peppy" from 0-70 or so but after that it was like someone threw a boat anchor out of the window.
I think an X3M, if you're daily driving, would make a fantastic option. But i wouldn't go ahead and say pick that over an actual M3/M4. If you can swing both, do that. Otherwise go with the actual sports type car. |

I test drove the X3M and X3Mc 4 times. I had myself convinced that I was tired of being blind in the forest of SUV's on the road for a bit. It was, along with the Macan GTS, the only SUV I've driven that I didn't hate driving. But. I still didn't walk away from the test drives (X3 or Macan) with any real positive emotional reaction. I could "logic" my way into owning one, but it would never be an emotionally satisfying choice.

X3M seems like it would be an excellent choice for the family car, but as a personal car a sedan will always be preferable IMO. You can't replace the feeling of sitting low, knowing the dimensions of your car well, and the infinitely more attractive styling.
The X3M gives me strong mom car vibes.
