1D2402 map-controlled thermostat, control: short circuit to ground
Hey all! Had this code pop up recently (1D2402 map-controlled thermostat, control: short circuit to ground). Took it to my local dealer and they replaced the thermostat under warranty. The code remained. I’m not noticing any decline in cooling efficiency or any overheating. Only thing I have noticed is the fans are constantly running except for when I’ve came to a stop.
Any help or advice is much appreciated! TIA Mods done to the car: JB4 Custom Map 6 Front mount intakes Single midpipe Catless downpipes Spacers Lowering springs R888rs |

Must be the tires...
But really, I'd guess JB4 connection related. I go over all the connections. If nothing obvious I'd uninstall JB4 just to rule that out. I've seen weirder situations due to bad JB4 ground or loose connection somewhere. What up with the O2 sensor codes, were those there previously? Can't believe your dealer is happy to throw parts at the car with JB4 and catless DPs installed. You must have a good relationship with them. |

I’m pretty lucky with my relationship with the local dealer. My best friend of 13 years is my service advisor and my really good friend is the onky tech I let touch my car there.
I just paid euro performance center to handle my dme unlock so I’ll have the jb4 removed as soon as I get that done. The codes for the o2 sensors are because I don’t have my spacers aligned properly. They stay off for the most part but do come on occasionally. I usually just clear them with the jb4 and repeat once it comes back on. |
