I got the mid-pipe Monday and installed it yesterday. Everything seems well and install was pretty smooth but I have a question. Do these come with a new cross brace or was that only on the F8x mid-pipes? The stock one is barely touching the mid-pipe and I can feel it vibrating in the cabin when driving.

Active are releasing braces for the G8x as well

Once it's available they will start including it with new shipments.

Existing customers should be getting the new brace as well per Active

Thanks Mike, that makes sense. Anything you recommend I can do to stop the two from touching in the mean time?

Get some stainless washers for the bolts used to hold the brace and use them as spacers. Maybe get 2-3 per bolt.

Bolt/brace/washers/screw in place.

So are you saying all the mid pipes that your AA mid pipes are coming with the brace in the box?!
Also what is the difference between the straight pipe and the one with the 100 CEL? will either one of them throw a CEL?

the single only comes straight
the x-pipe is offered straight or catted
the midpipe will not throw a check engine light even its a straight pipe

Depending on when your midpipe ships, you might get the brace after

Its quieter , can be useful depending on the downpipe and axle back

if you are keeping everything else stock, you might as well get a straight midpipe

Perfect I'm going keep everything stock except it I'm going to get a MST air intake! So I will just get the straight one without the 100cel and I will just wait to install it until I get my brace! It should pass emissions because the single straight pipe well not throw any codes! Thanks for the info

This is a problem with all mid pipes. I would recommend some skateboard bearings instead of washers. They will give you the clearance you need. Much better than just washers

I installed mine today. Everything went well. The brace did not touch but it was really really close so I added 1 washer to each bolt. I would say the clearance is about a little less than half an inch. I did not hear vibrations on my 25 minute ride home. Sounds awesome though haha

Yea mine barely didn't touch when I first installed it but was very very close. But during cold start and certain conditions, it touches and vibrates. I'm going to add washers tomorrow as suggested by others here and hopefully that'll fix it.
