Hey all
Looking for some input to which direction to go in regarding exhaust sound and figured this would be a good group to ask. I’m debating between 1 of the following 3 setups: 1. Active Autowerke single midpipe paired with Active Autowerke axleback 2. Valvetronic single midpipe paired with Valvetronic axleback (secondary option to consider here is if titanium is worth the upgrade) 3. Active Autowerke single midpipe paired with Remus Race axleback My goal is to have the an aggressive exhaust note with a setup that is still tame enough to daily drive and does not have drone. I will be retaining stock downpipes (at least for now hah) Main questions: -Is there a noticeable difference in sound between setups 1 and 2 (assuming I go for the stainless option with the Valvetronic)? -Does Valvetronic stainless vs titanium make enough of a difference to justify the price point? -IIRC the Valvetronic single midpipe pairs with the Remus without any issues, but please correct me if I’m wrong Any input would be great! Thanks! Last edited by umairriamu; 05-12-2022 at 03:23 AM.. |

Valvetronic axle-back has a louder high RPM tone; Active autowerke axle-back has a deeper mid-range sound. Their midpipes will sound very similar.
Im running the full active Autowerke exhaust, and I'm pleased with the result, but all three options you mentioned are highly rated. You won't regret going with either one. They all have a mild sound for daily driving and get aggressive with open valves and high RPM.

I'd go with the single if both are in stock, but the sound is so similar that I decided not to wait.

Just got my AA mid pipe installed today. Definitely a huge improvement over stock! This is how the car should sound!

Few questions Mike:
- Which will dyno higher? The single mid or the catless x-pipe version? - Which weighs less? (I'm assuming single?) - Does the x-pipe version have multiple cuts for shipping versus the single? Thanks! Chris

I don't have dyno for both on the same car but if I was to guess it'll be very similar.

Thanks for the quote! Just to get your own opinion, what setup sounds the deepest? Don't want drone so I was thinking I just will end up doing the midpipe and leave the mufflers stock.

Start with the midpipe and if you want a deeper tone, get the REMUS or Active Autowerke axle back No drone with either setup

I have the X-pipe on my car with the active autowerke axle back. The single midpipe has a deeper midrange tone and is more tamed on high RPM
