Active sound after remote software upgrade
Hi all,
I did a remote software upgrade yesterday (version 07 / 2021.50). Afterwards I noticed a significant change in the active sound in the interior. A very artificial noise can now be detected when upshifting. I don't even know how to describe it. The burbling is now very much enhanced by the subwoofer. I only created this account because of the topic, as I've been very disturbed about these additional effects since the upgrade. I haven't found anything about it yet here or anywhere else. Have other users had similar experiences after this upgrade? Best regards, valgaldr Last edited by valgaldr; 09-30-2021 at 01:18 PM.. Reason: typo |

interesting... sounds like they programmed in the "fart" sound as heard in videos of some AWD cars recently.. havent gotten this 07/2021.50 software update yet, will keep an eye out for it
currently, the car only makes a shifting "fart" sound on upshift in full throttle from 1st to 2nd, and to some extent 2nd to 3rd as well.

I installed the PSI mid pipe earlier this month and I did the update. I thought I was tripping but the exhaust got way less raspy. There's more of a rumbling noise from the active sound on high revving up shifts and downshifts. I'm one of those few people who liked the pops and burbles. Coming from an F80 comp lol. I have the latest software and the VSC valve controller so I can keep the valves open... when I open the valves and am in comfort, the exhaust is about as loud as in sport+, when in sport+, valves open and exhaust button "on", I hear a lot of deep burbles as OP describes. When I turn the exhaust button "off" the volume is still the same but the burbles are reduced greatly/gone entirely... so I wonder if the burbles I hear inside are mostly coming from the speakers and not genuinely from the exhaust. I'll need to have someone drive my car while I listen outside to know for sure.

All this fake noise…..all they are doing is getting is ready for the switch to all electric vehicles….giving us fake engine/exhaust sounds to try and lessen the blow. Gross. Makes me want to run out and buy a V8 immediately.
