What's so exciting about this generation of CS over the M5 CS or CSL, unless it's much cheaper than we expect?

At best it's an M5 CS lite but for slightly less than the M5 CS's price.

At this point I'm starting to think they are working out some kinks on the M3CS. Should've been announced already by now if the rumor of March 2023 production target is true.

Perhaps it was exceeding or matching the performance of the M4CSL, and the marketing and engineering team are scrambling!

At least that's what I'd like to think

Nah the M5 CS wasn’t announced until late January and started production in March/April. It hasn’t done a ton of ring time compared to the CSL, so hopefully they are focusing on its road manners instead.

I tend to agree withScullyD

There is no reason for them to announce anything before February - I'd go as far as saying; it is entirely possible it won't go into production until later than March given there are tons of M4CSLs caught in the bottleneck, production of which was supposed to finish by March 23 (but is unlikely)

I would agree that the announcement likely won’t be until February.

M4 is built at a different location than M3. I would assume this holds true for CSL versus CS as well so a bottle neck of CSLs wouldn’t mean anything unless for some reason they didn’t want to have both under production at the same time even though separate facilities. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I acknowledge your reasoning - my point wasn't that CS will follow CSL in the same production line - more like, the conditions leading to the bottlenecks for the CSL, may also lead to bottlenecks for the CS

Ah, ok. That definitely makes sense.
