I didn't read the previous responses, so I'll probably be echoing some of them...
I also used to own an F23 M240i 6-sp, and it was a blast. I currently have a deposit on the G80, because it's more roomy and practical as a DD. If I were looking for another convertible, between these two choices, I'd go with the Boxster all day long. Even if not as powerful/fast (dollar-for-dollar), I'm sure it would be the winner from a driver's perspective. IMHO, the practicality argument for a G83 is pretty weak, unless you're transporting small kids around on a regular basis. (That's about all those rear seats would be good for.)

As for general room the convertible is only a 4 passenger car so they can typically find some room back there. Found this interesting: M4C Convertible 4 Passenger Front Head Room 40.6 in. Front Leg Room 41.8 in. Front Shoulder Room 55.1 in. Rear Head Room 36.1 in. Rear Leg Room 32.5 in. Rear Shoulder Room 43.9 in. M3C 5 Passenger Front Head Room 39.1 in. Front Leg Room 41.6 in. Front Shoulder Room 56.0 in. Rear Head Room 37.7 in. Rear Leg Room 35.6 in. Rear Shoulder Room 54.6 in.

Agree with you if you need a car for more than two adults most of the time or only have one car & a family to drive around the M3C is a no brainer.

I would think closer to $25-30K--and that's not counting markup over MSRP which is crazy for Porsches--especially GT type cars. Not a fan of verts, but if you were to compare M4 Comp coupe and GT-4 AND within 10 grand or so, would still pick the BMW but could easily go the other way. Both great cars; BMW quicker, Boxster more agile. Practicality clearly on the M4's side, though.

I was debating between a GTS 4.0 and others. The manual was out of the question due to tall gearing. Oh, and the ridiculous $20,000 ADM. I do have a deposit on my dealer's first Cayman GTS EV.
Pricing aside, I'd take the Porsche for the OP. |

Currently the Porsche dealer and I have agreed to MSRP since it's an order but my understanding is nothing is set in stone till I secure an allotment.

I drove a 718 Boxster GTS for a weekend and took it through the canyons. The Spyder is even better and I would definitely choose the Spyder over an M4 vert for the driving experience. However, be aware that the Boxster is tiny inside compared to the M4. I felt like "I'm here to drive and that's it". There is no usable cupholder, very little room for storage, it's a very driver focused car for better or worse.
