This REALLY frosts my cookies!

My car's been stuck in Q/C for a month and the I4 is showing up 3 months early? Would be nice if BMW would have used the parts to complete the cars that are just sitting...

I’ve been in QC since 11/3 for a 22 M4c x-drive so going on a month. I have no stop sales and appear to; along with a few other people in this forum; be an anomaly in the order process thus far. Genius and my dealer have no further information so my take is they are trying to fix a potential stop sales before shipping out. I ordered on 9-13 so going on 3 months here soon. This article made me sad

Mine was in QC for 7 1/2 weeks. Was told over and over that it was because of RAM (receiver audio module) and that it would be installed at the factory. My car finally left QC purgatory and is at the port in Bremerhaven. RAM stop sale is still open so I’m scratching my head wondering why it was sitting there at factory so long.

I am sure the optics aren't good if BMW cannot deliver on a car they just announced. Hence why they are punting on a year old car and prioritizing the I4. Same thing with the new 2 series, which shares a lot of the same components.

I'm certain the two cars do not have all parts in common. When finalizing a new model, BMW engineers probably had the opportunity to integrate parts and components that were available. No such opportunity on cars that are already in progress or models that are a year old. Look how many of us on hear complain when options and parts are switched mid-order. So it's not the I4 that frosts my cookies. It's the lack of reliable information about our own cars.

I agree with your view.

But, looking from a customer point of view. We are talking about cars which costs more than $80.000.

BMW should pay more attention to the customers. I'm 2 weeks late from my original production week. (2 days in QC).

I'm preparing myself for a long wait.

I like frosting on my cookies. This expression sounds like something good happened. Similar to icing on the cake.

I guess icing on cake is good, but not on cookies? What about cupcakes?

Of course they don't have ALL parts in common - If they did it would be the same model... I'm just talking about the parts missing from the G80/G82's needed to get them into customer's hands - Primarily the RAM. If they have enough extra supply to get the I4's done 3 mos early it doesn't make much sense we're all stuck waiting.

But you are assuming that the same parts we are waiting for are being used in the I4. I really doubt that is the case. If BMW new that they were having trouble with sourcing certain components, they certainly would have designed them into another brand new model.

Threads like this validate that we've all totally lost it while waiting for our G80s

Thanks to BMW, I'll never look at computer specs the same way. 8GB of RAM used to mean something, now it's just triggering

Consider my cookies FROSTED
