"Carbahn Performance controller" Am I the only one here with this?

https://carbahnautoworks.com/product...x3mc-x4m-x4mc/

I've had this since about October last year and haven't heard anyone else buying this one. Just curious if I'm the only one...There's got to be others...

Stage 1 controller 2021 M3 Comp RWD

Also does anyone know if mixing a couple gallons of E85 with 91 can I use the 93 octane tune? I've read all sorts of different opinions on this but wanted to see what others have to say since I'm stuck with California sh*t gas.

I haven't seen that one. What made you choose it over JB4 and Race Chip?

Is it good?

It's a race chip with the price doubled for good measure. Has about half the functionality of a JB4 but more fun than factory tuning I'm sure.

I just got it for the matching factory warranty but now I feel like it was a waste of money and don't really need it. Seems good, the power band is smooth but wish I could use the 93 octane. I filled up once with 100 octane for about $150 to try it and it definitely felt like a rocket ship with 677hp but way too expensive to do it frequently like I'd want to.

How does the 'warranty' work? Yeah

depending on the mix, if your total octane is 93 or over, you can use the 93 octane map

Why can't you use 93 octane? Looks like they have a lower boost map for it.

California... max octane is 91. You'd have to blend with 100/101 racing fuel to get to 93.

Shows 91 is an option on their site slightly less boost.

"These maps are designed to accommodate different octane fuels for additional increased performance. You can choose between 91, 93 and 100 Octane. As with all CarBahn products an optional powertrain warranty can be purchased."

I would have skipped the warranty. At 1K it's somewhat reasonable for a piggy back.

So how do you like it though? Which map are you using and on what octane level? I’m on 91 map 4 most of the time but can’t tell a difference with 2, 3, or 4.

Honestly I left it on 91 map 3. It's plenty of power. Feels great!

Why not 91 map 4?

I ordered mine. I did it directly through the dealer who will install it, etc.

Yes, it is far more expensive than the other options on the market; however, for $1500 you basically get the peace of mind that there won't be any warranty issues if anything arises.

How many HP are you seeing from this? I see that they are advertising 674HP at the crank, which seems like a 90-100 HP improvement.

I tried to get it on the dyno but we couldn’t figure out how to get it into dyno mode correctly, followed all the videos I’ve seen but wasn’t able to get it Dyno’d.

That 674 horsepower is only if you fill up with 100 octane gas. I’m always on the 91 map 4 and when I asked them how much power it was supposed to make on 91 it was low 600, can’t remember the exact numbers.

I'd like to get one but what if Car Bahn says it's not because of the tune and it was direct result of material defect from bmw or something else? You're then stuck being monkey in the middle with a broken motor.

Thoughts?
