It wasn't available on any iDrive 8.0 car as far as I know, once they got upgraded to 8.5, it was available. We have iDrive 8.0 on our pre-LCI G8xs and none of us have it.

The LCI G8x have iDrive 8.5, this was my reference.

It may be what you meant to say but what you said was “Should be available on iDrive 8.0 and above”. The ‘25s won’t have 8.0 so no M3/M4 prior to ‘25 will get this feature.

The LCI G8x has a weird amalgamation of iDrive 8 and 8.5, BMW calls it "iDrive 8.5 M Edition" or something. It's 8.5 under the hood, but mostly still iDrive 8.0 at the interface. I wouldn't apply anything BMW says can be applied to generally "iDrive vX" as the G8x have a strange in-between version of it.

Well 8.0 "and above" IMO includes 8.0.
