Hello there,

I will be staying at the Four Seasons in Westlake Village for a company event from Nov 16-18. I have hired a Turo M4 to get a real shakedown of the car before I officially pull the trigger. Unfortunately, there aren't any M3 xDrive's with carbon buckets for rent as that will be my spec of choice if I go forward. I was wondering if anyone that actually has the buckets wanted to help me out and set up a canyon run? I'd like to get a feel for them even if not for a run, but just to sit and maybe take me for a 5 minute drive. I am looking forward to see how they feel riding around as I have a "meh" back condition.

Update: Found a Turo w/buckets for my trip. Would like to find a meetup while I'm out there and go for a drive.

Thank you. Looks like, unless they don't cancel, I found the right spec w/buckets. Hooray!

I still would like to meet up, but no joke, when I signed up on my first discord, man, completely disorienting for my generation. Would need to put in a few minutes of focus to catch up.

Your absolute last reach out, would be looking for used, locally when you get there. Check cars.com for used M3 and M4 in the focus range you're willing to travel, while you're there, and find one at a dealer, in that area. These probably wont be there, next month, but this is what I mean. These are within 75 miles of the zipcode where youre going to be staying. All 3 of these have buckets.

BTW, I work at a Porsche dealership in Colorado! Not sure if you are down for a drive, but would love to go explore the roads around that area which as we all know are fantastic!

Would love to hear back about your experience with the buckets. I am so torn on this and am running out of time to decide.

I have not optioned them but I am second guessing myself badly. They just look so damn cool.

BTW, I work at a Porsche dealership in Colorado! Not sure if you are down for a drive, but would love to go explore the roads around that area which as we all know are fantastic!

i was in a similar spot and rented off turo.

super confusing at first. for some reason, unlike f8x owners, all g8x owners list theirs under 'm-series' instead of m3 or m4.

Got really busy out there with work and canyon driving. Thanks for the invites;-)

Firstly, those buckets are the BEST seats I've ever driven in. I'd say due to the lack of feeling in the steering/brakes, the buckets come close to making up for that with a more enhanced connection to the car. To add to that, their comfort for my compromised lower back was truly amazing. I was in those seats four at least 2 hour intervals while driving in LA traffic, canyons, etc and got out with less tightness and a greater ease than with other buckets or seats. Maybe 6 hours in the car on Saturday total. For me, this may be worth it alone.

Easier ingress/egress when compared to pcar carbon buckets.

Was I a little disappointed that it was a thin CFRP compared to the pcar "more solid" carbon buckets...nope! They look the look and functioned wonderfully.

Truly impressed.
