Hi guys. My last 22’ G82 M4 was totaled in an accident and I am now in my brand new 24’ G2 M4. In my 22’, I had flawless Sat Radio reception. Would never cut in and out during my drive to work and home.

My new 24’ has very poor reception and keeps cutting out. It’s almost like every branch I drive under, it cuts out.

I take literally the same exact route to work that I did in my 22’ and it was never a problem. Not sure what the issue is.

Anyone experiencing this?

Nope. The antenna might need to be looked at. Probably a dealer visit if restarting iDrive (hold power/volume button for 30 seconds or so) doesn't work

No. I have a '24 M3 and I
Even get signal in my parking garage if I am near enough to the outside. Definitely have it looked at.

Doesn't sound likely, but wanted to confirm the new car doesn't have a carbon fiber shark fin? Because that will definitely cause reception problems.

Took the car in for service over the weekend and the technician said that I had bad/incomplete software from the factory, which he said is rare. They did a fresh reprogram of the car and reception is certainly better. Still have places of dropped reception but overall, it's much better.

Hmmm now the poor spotty reception is back. Even though service says the antenna passed the test, I'm wondering if they should just replace it with a new one anyways.
