Not sure if this is pertinent to your question.

It all depends on what you’re coming from, expectations and use case. I sold my 997 in order to carry 2 kids around. I stumbled onto a G80 at the dealer and was able to try out the carbon buckets. That, plus the availability of good non-white/gray/black color options convinced me to bite the bullet.

When I finally drove it, I was a bit shocked at the insulated feel and lack of sound. I seriously thought my exhaust button was broken. I had driven an e46 and e92 before, but skipped the F generation. Clearly something changed there.

I’ve driven it in the canyons and the equivalent on track at Thermal, so I can appreciate that it’s a very very capable car. I love the buckets and color (IOMG) but I plan to switch back to a 2+2 soon. The G82 and G87 aren’t on the list.

Funny, I am selling my 997 Turbo S for the same reason, but am welcoming the additional refinement with very little loss in performance.

  • Is black interior/leather also “boring”/safe choice

Other than that I missed out on the M-Drivers Package, due to miscommunication. But I’ll go the FEMTO/BM3 route instead for the same price. I added pretty much all other options.
CCBs aren't necessary at all, buckets are a pain to get in and out of daily, dravit is beautiful (and you can always get it wrapped if you want to change it), and black goes with every color.

Wish I got the Fjord Blue interior. It is glorious.

I regret that BMW discontinued the " Individual fine-wood trim 'Fineline' Black with silver effect open-pored" option for MY23:

It's gorgeous, and I would have totally chosen it over CF.

But other than that, no regrets at all. It's wonderful.

No regrets whatsoever. Kinda wish I did CCB's, but the money saved gives me a healthy mod budget. Just need to clean my wheels A LOT.

The anticipation and the hand-wringing and the second-guessing is part of the experience

Only regret is not having red brake calipers, but I found this one on the lot after I abandoned my order for taking too long in QC (4.5 months). It had every option I had ordered in what was my 1st choice in color.

The interior is a huge step up from my gts. Shocking what used to pass in a $100k+ car just 12 years ago.

I doubt you will find people on here that regret their purchase, most people don't hang around on a forum for a product they bought and regret buying. That being said, I've got one in production and am stoked for individual color.

Yeah, mine was a full leather interior so it was pretty nice...but it was $168k in 2011! And the tech was old then.....

Looking forward to the G80 experience.
