I passed on my allocation due to carbon buckets not being available. I really hope they become available in the near future. At this point I am almost tempted to just wait till the 2025 LCI.

Or carbon for the driver and regular for the passenger - then my wife would be very happy

I was told by multiple dealers that they are not available on M2/M3 builds but are available on M4.

I daily mine with the seats and love them. Wife sometimes complains about the getting out since she's 5'2 and a buck. To each their own. I'm glad I was able to get them for my 23.

I will have to disagree. I had a chance to drive an M3 out on the track with the carbon bucket seat, they’re not very comfortable. I actually would have not gotten them anyway on my 2024 Xdrive build.. cool factor yes they look very cool however, I think the standard seats especially coming from my competition pack on my M4. I actually prefer the non-bucket carbon seats. I could always pull out the driver seat and put in an aftermarket racing seat if I ever needed.

Bruh, who cares if the cars seats are top of their list instead of others.
Some people would say the performance/power/driving capability of this car should be top no brainer, but there are people who never had a chance to drive a car like this before and this is their first step into this world.

Stop being weird ya'll.

Great to see that the buckets are available for those who want them. They are in my build but I’m purchasing a 2022 that has the buckets. I do find it a bit crazy that the buckets have gone from being $3800 in 2022 to $4500 for 2023/2024. That’s almost a 20% increase.

I don’t find that crazy at all. Have you noticed prices of everything else going up?
I put costs are way up (labor/materials) and demand still strong.

Not to derail the thread, but beautiful spec. Frozen Brilliant White or Alpine White?

I just sold my 2023 with the carbon seats and while I liked them a lot (6’1” 170lbs) I was getting too annoyed always worrying about how my passengers were coming in and out so I didn’t option them on my 24’ order.

Great seats but never felt they were worth the $$ but glad you guys are enjoying them.

2022 g80 base went from 69,900 (based on the used 2022 I’m purchasing) to 2024 at 76,000. That’s 8.7%. While the buckets went up 18.4%. And some options like carbon fiber trim and full leather (see what I did there) didn’t change.

If the base price went up 18% in a your or so, would that register on your crazy scale?

Sure but we don’t know about sourcing particular components. There was shortage of them and maybe supplier charging more for that. BMW doesn’t make the buckets. So anyway. I am not that’s surprised.

I probably would have went with the Aston Martin Vantage I was considering if the carbon buckets were not an option.
They make the interio feel special and the seat fits my body perfect. The most comfortable seats ever.

My F150 has a three stage bolster and I can’t get the shape of the back even close to as perfect the carbons fit.

But I’ve had Reccaros in all my sports cars. I like a firm seat that doesn’t squish around me.
