No way in hell I would've ordered this without the buckets!
I actually find the buckets in my M3 more of a challenge (slightly) compared to the buckets in my ‘22 GT4. Both seats are good though and certainly add to the experience. The M3 seats, being more bolstered at the thigh and also an adjustable seat back are my preferred seat. Highly subjective topic though, obviously.

Oh, so....the looks.
They look more aggressive in person than on pictures.
And they hold much better than the F80 seats did (which were excellent too)
Buckets are definitely not for me, short trips around town, hauling customers (from 25-65 years of age and 140-250lbs)...

I definitely find the G8x standard seats way better than the F80/F80C seats

This entire car is one giant compromise as it is already, don’t ruin it by not getting the one thing that actually makes a real difference in the driving experience that comes from the factory.
As everything else you’ll need to get aftermarket , such as exhaust , valve controller , springs , tune , carbon bits for the exterior, etc etc.

Even if it hurts your back , who cares , pain is beauty as they say
The difference maker is the 6MT, not the buckets.
The coolness factor goes to the buckets for sure. Practicality, every day need (in fact, anything minus the track days) to standard seats

May be showing my age here but the Carbon Buckets are sort of like nipple rings. Look cool, fun for only certain activities but for the other 99% of life they are just sort of an annoyance.
I daily my car and with the current heatwave I'm experiencing I am glad I have my standard seats.
Not that I don't think the carbons don't look bad ass, they just ain't for me.

Love the buckets but I find the standard msport seats suoer comfortable and having ventilated seats during a 118 degree day is nice. Enjoy whatever you get!

Sorry to burst your bubble but carbon buckets are sort of like a nice pair of tits and the regular seats…. Well you get where I’m going with this.

I don’t think you are. They are a preference. If people buy a car for the seats, to me, seems shortsighted. If you fit that little guy, tall n skinny, manlet type or track your car often, sure I guess i can see it? I mean i don’t want you little guys flopping all over the place.

I don’t fit any of that description , just 225 on the scale and 6’3.

I’d think a diet is in order so you too can enjoy these amazing seats and fit in them , “big guy”

They are more aggressive and supportive than the F80 seats, when buckets were not an option.
When all the way down, they sit super low
The buckets are made for real sports cars and track cars. The G80 is a multi-purpose car and not a sports car.
The buckets issue is not only a challenge for the driver, but also passengers — will you be able to pick up your dad with those, your customer...?
So, with all that removed, and with more spirited/track oriented use...I'd say yes — they look cool, they are great.
Oh, and if you live anywhere south of 45th parallel...lack of cooled seats may be a challenge too
I wont pick carbon bucket seat to pick up dad/customer… I won’t even choose an m3/4 to do that. I need a mini van to do that.

Carbon Buckets are ultimate seats, I think they also increase the leg room for the back seats.
They are sleek compared to standard sports seats.

My 70+ yr old dad loves my buckets. Has zero issues getting In/out when I take him for rides.

Anyone have any suggestions on M3 alternatives? If there are no carbon buckets, I’m gonna pass. Needs to be AWD and sedan. Also new and not used.

Gross - going from TT/SC V8s and V12s to that is sacrilegious.

How does your mom or dad like them? Your CEO, you offered to take to lunch yesterday? Or, did you have to ask your wife for the minivan to take them out?

Well, good. You can have a sedan and use it exclusively to drive yourself around
We already concluded how great the G80 is for its flexibility to be a fun sedan and a family car...
