Having steering vibration issues since new

I received my 2022 M3 xdrive about a month ago and have been having steering vibrations from day one. The vibration are getting worse and it vibrates at all speeds, I also hear a droning sound as my speed increases. I'm hoping the dealer figures it out tomorrow. Since I've not driven any other M3, how do your cars act over bumps and driving in general? I have Michelin Pilot 4 tires by the way. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Probably wheel balancing or a loose lug nut. Dealer should 100% resolve (and easily; don't drive it home otherwise).

Given that it is happening at all speeds (does it peak at any particular speed(s)?) and the drone, this sounds more like a halfshaft issue.
Let us know what the dealer says.
Hope it gets fixed soon.

Take it back to dealer ASAP before a wheel possibly comes off, they should be able to figure it out if it happens all the time or frequently.

Just dropped it off at dealer. Took a short ride and the tech says all he feels is normal feedback. I was afraid of this but he did he will take it on the highway later. This is my 3rd M3, many other bmw's and never had a car vibrate like this. Will see what they say later. Does anyone get vibrations at a feedback on normal street roads?

Wheel weights do come off, have them rebalance the front tires and see if that helps.

I had similar issues and they were related the shipping blocks still being present. Removed them and issues resolved.

it could be tires. unfortunately you cannot switch front to rear to see if it goes away due to the staggered setup, but definitely start with balancing and have them look for signs of uneven wear on the tires.

None at all.
What did the tech say about the droning noise you mentioned?
Do you have all steering assists and warnings turned off - particularly the lane departure warning?

Yes lane assist off, I hate having it on anyway. I am still waiting to hear back as we were not able to take it on the highway due to traffic this morning and tech said he would take it out later. So far no update on my car.

Update, they replaced what they said was a defective tire but I don't feel the car is any better. I just drove it on a smooth highway and it still felt like I was holding on to vibrating steering wheel. All the tech said this is normal road feedback. I have never had a car like this and if this is normal feedback I'm going to sell it. I knew this was going to be a battle, as I had to force them to do the tire balance as they didn't do it at first. I need to find someone in the Tampa Bay Area that has an M3 and they can drive mine to feel if it's the same. There is no way a wheel vibrates on a smooth road but I could be wrong.

OP - Tell the dealer to perform a Road force balance and ask for a printout or picture of what each wheel balances at. Anything higher than 25 will result in vibration. Normally significant vibrations will be in the high 30's or higher. Also, the highest road force wheel/tire assemblies should be on the rear/non driver side.

They said they did a road balance and said 3 were good but one tire but I don't have a readout. They replaced one tire and no info on the other 3 tires. I looked at the weights and all original weights except one tire, so I'm assuming that would mean no real road balance done but I'm no expert.

If you're certain all of the previous wheel weights are in the EXACT same spot as before, then all they did was put the wheels on the balancer with the existing weights to verify the road force. If they say they're in spec, then I would go back and ask them to do it again and provide you numbers. As mentioned, all ideally should be sub 20 but should definitely be sub 30.

I will tell you road force balancing 4 wheels and tires the right way, knocking off weights, checking road force and then breaking the bead and rotating the tire on the wheel assembly to match what the machine gives x4 times - is not in a tech's interest from a FRT standpoint so getting them to do it can sometimes be tough.

If you get a readout or photo and all are in line and you're still experiencing vibrations you've either got a larger issue at hand or you're overly sensitive to it. Especially if you've verified all the lugs are torqued to spec as well after the balance.

Any resolution on the steering wheel vibration?

I’ve also been fighting with the dealership about a vibration that drives me nuts. On my case it only happens at high speed and not necessarily coming from the steering column but kind of a general vibration throughout the car. I had my wheel and tires balanced 2 twice with road force at 2 different shops it doesn’t cut it. Its still here.
Bmw shop foreman also testdrove the car and mentioned it was normal for the speed he drove it.
At this points I think it’s probably a bad wheel. I plan on putting go pros at every tire to see if I can see the wheel vibrating laterally.

I have those minor vibrations too, I think it's just electric steering feedback.

Im lowered and running 20/21 wheels and its smooth as butter. I dont think this is notmal at all for you to be feeling the vibrations unless youre constantly crossing into lanes and your steering wheel vibrates whoch i doubt is the case here. Ive had an F80 before and my G80 is much smoother.

That's the feedback for the LKA. You turn it off by disabling LKA. It shouldn't be giving you feedback all the time though, so you should probably have the dealer look at it.
