G80 M3 Carbon Roof Lamination/Resin issue?
Hi all. 2023 M3 Competition in South Florida. Took delivery in 12/22. Started noticing a lightening of the carbon on the roof in a couple spots recently. It did have PPF installed in 2/23 including the roof as well as full ceramic. Installer thought it could be the Xpel PPF so went through the process of removing it from the roof and spots are definitely in the carbon/resin. Has anyone else seen such happen? I know previous generations have had issues based on searching but haven't seen much on the G80 platform. I know it's most likely a warranty issue but wonder if BMW is going to squawk about the PPF causing the issue? Thoughts? And then grand question, are these roof shells replaceable? Thanks you all.

The lighting for the pictures isn’t helping here, I’m sure in better light/in person it may be different though. The roof shells are replaceable, so your best bet is to make an appointment with the dealer and let the process take its course.

If these CF roofs are replaceable that would be the obvious course of action. Has there been any other posts concerning this type of issue made here on Bimmerpost? |
