Carbon Fibre Bucket Seats - Alcantara durability
Hi all, we've seen/heard enough posts about CF Bucket Seats and the wear over the outer bolsters caused in ingress/egress AND the wrinking of the leather on the base of the seat. This is not about those.
How are your alcantara bits wearing? Specifically, I'm talking about the "sides" of the base of the seat where the sides of your thigh contact and the side bolsters that hug your sides. Are you noticing thinning/piling? How have you been protecting/cleaning them? Asking because I'm torn over speccing a new build to pair with IOMG. I like the look and feel of the alcantara, particularly in KO but fear its durability. On the flip side, Ivory would be full leather but it changes the "feel" of the car more towards luxury than sporty and brings about its own challenges with keeping clean. This is a car I plan to keep long-term hence the difficulty in balancing aesthetics and durability! |

18months in with no viable issues. I do my best to minimize contact with side on ingress and egress but not overly so. KO color for me so I do use leather cleaner once a quarter to keep if clean.
